TGIF! It’s so good to welcome in Friday, and get ready for the weekend. Today on Fit Five Friday, we’re talking about running playlists. I’m not huge on listening to anything while I run, but I’m in my country music era and I have a few songs that help me keep moving on the road!
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” – Shaboozey
As far as I am concerned, this is the song of summer, and I love it when I’m struggling on my runs in the heat. A Bar Song (Tipsy) is fun and light and gives a nod to J-Kwon’s hit “Tipsy” from 2004. A little nostalgia goes a long way with me, and I will two-step through the miles with this one. It’s top of my running playlist every time.
“Austin” – Dasha
The quicker pace on this newer release is great for keeping it light on the road. Is it a great song? Nope, but it’s catchy as heck, and super singable as well. I’m a sucker for something I can sing to myself as I run.
“I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” – Taylor Swift
Of course, T-Swift earned a spot on this list. “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” is a new track on her Tortured Poets’ Department album, and It lives in my head, rent-free. The pacing of this tune is great because it speeds up and slows down, which makes it awesome for speed work. If I was to do that sort of thing.
“Stargazing” – Myles Smith
The beat on this song is just a great cadence for a solid run. Plus it puts me in a pretty good mood. SO that’s a fabulous reason for it to be on my summer running playlist.
“Wagon Wheel” – Darius Rucker
This is a few years old, but it’s a great beat, and a fun song. I have a fabulous line dance to this song and that makes it easy to keep my feet moving in time with the music. Running isn’t as much fun as dancing, but that’s ok.

wow! I don’t know any of these but I’m DEFINITELY going to check them out! I’m always open for new (to me) music and if you like these songs, surely there will be something I can appreciate in them!

Oh, gosh. No pressure. I just decided I love line dancing? So I learned all the dances to these, and now I just want to go to a country bar.

I’m not much of a country music fan so I’m not familiar with any of these. I do really like Darius Rucker’s voice – I was a Hootie & the Blowfish fan back in the day 🙂

He has a great voice! I listened to Cowboy Carter on repeat when it came out and heard Tipsy last month, and now all I want to do is go to Stagecoach and line dance to all the things.

Like Michelle, I am not a country music fan and haven’t heard any of the songs. I do know who Taylor Swift is! 🙂

I figure everyone has to! I don’t know a lot of country artists, but I do know what I like.
