Would you believe we are halfway through 2024? It’s absolutely mind-blowing! However, that doesn’t mean we can slow down now!
Get Back To Running
As much as I hate to say it, I haven’t been actually running most of my miles. It’s downright dangerous out there, and I’m not taking it to the treadmill. I’m working with what I have, but it’s a little discouraging to be walking all the time. At least for now, I’ve chosen my battles to stay safe and well, rather than speeding it up out there.
Be More Consistent At The Gym
I was doing so well. Really, I was. But travel and family things had a detrimental impact on my available time. Boo. Next week? I am back at it four days a week. No excuses! And yes, I want to take a class or two, as well.
Continue Streaking
I am over 200 days of my #streakingwiththeCOOLKIDS run streak, and I plan to keep it going. Even though the official event lasted only for the month of June, I was streaking before and after those dates. I even managed to keep it up while I was traveling, and it made such a huge difference in my mood and energy levels.
Run One Race Per Month
As it stands, I’m doing great with this goal! I need to pick something for August. The selection isn’t great: I can do a 5K/5 mile on the beach, a no-frills 5K, or a 4 mile beach run/5K road run/1 mile sizzler in 24 hours in my immediate area. I’m on the hunt for something else.
I’d Love To Check Off One More State
My 50 Races In 50 States goal is moving along quite nicely. I snagged South Carolina, Louisiana, and Tennessee in less than a year. I’d really love to add one more before 2024 is out. We have our sights on DC or Maryland for the holidays – would that be an option? I guess only time will tell!

Great goals! I would love to get off the injured sidelines and get back to running – though in this heat, I’m ok with walking. I’ve let the strength trainng slip too but will be back on it next week. We’ve got this!
