I want to make this abundantly clear: my holiday gear is activated and there is no going back. I’ve got the cozy blanket, and the cute pjs, and all the holiday movies and snacks queued up and ready to go. Decorations are even going up. There will be no further comment on this subject. That being said, there will be fitness. Because that’s just how it goes.
Sunday
- Cardio: 4.83 miles, walking
Once again, we were exhausted after a super long band day. And that’s ok. A had work, but we had other plans. Of course, I started by taking the pugs for a walk and then finishing a few miles on my own.
Mr PugRunner and I drove down to Flagler Beach for our favorite pizza and ice cream to celebrate our 18th anniversary, one day early. We also managed to squeeze in a little walk along the water.
Monday
- Cardio: 7.91 miles, running + walking
Happy Monday! I got out early and enjoyed a decent run on a misty morning.
We all had a lot on the schedule, so it was a good thing we celebrated the prior day. The pugs have been especially adorable this week, so brace yourself for lots of photos of them. They are also in love with the new holiday blanket I bought, so we are all cuddling quite a bit.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 1 mile, walking
It was Election Day. Not going to lie: it was a rough 16 hours, and I only made it through because of coffee and a great team. We processed over 1800 people at my precinct, and didn’t get to leave until after 9PM.
I showered, ate food, and went right to bed.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 5.87 miles, running
A rough night is no excuse to not get up and moving, and so I did. it was a gray, dreary, and drizzly morning, which made everything so much more annoying.
For some reason, I also saw fit to schedule a dentist appointment for the afternoon. If you don’t know this about me, I would rather do anything but go to the dentist. Good news: I am still part of the no-cavity club. Bad news: dentist.
I came home and snuggled with this precious monster.
Thursday
- Cardio: 6.56 miles, running + walking
Honestly, it was mostly walking. Out of nowhere, the temperatures bumped up to almost 80 with devastating humidity. We were over it.
I had a work meeting, and then it was time to just lock in on my to-do list. It was not the most thrilling of days.
Friday
- Cardio: 6 miles, running + walking
TGIF, I guess. I met up with J for another slog through high humidity.
I met a wonderful friend for coffee, and finally took a picture of my new fall nails. Then it was off on errands, and home to prep for the weekend.
On a not so fun note, Luna had to go back to the vet AGAIN. I guess she was scrapping with her brother and hurt her paw! When I came home, she had some swelling, so off we went for X-rays. Good news is that it’s not a fracture, so she got antibiotics and a pain med, and home we went to give her love. Sigh.
Saturday
- Cardio: 5.36 miles, walking
Since I woke up a little later, I took the pugs out for a little walk before my longer one. Luna, incidentally, pranced along like nothing had happened. I also got to break in my new Adrenaline GTS 24s. Aren’t they pretty?
It was a quiet day today. We had a little cook out with some band families and just got in some rest. We have a super long competition day tomorrow, and we needed to brace for it!
Thoughts + Goals
What to say?
This was an off week. Between my long day on Tuesday, the vet, and the gross weather, I just haven’t felt on my game. That’s ok, but I hate that I didn’t get any gym time. Next week.
Marching band is coming to a close tomorrow, and that makes me sad. It also opens up our weekends again, so there’s that. I’m trying to fill things in for the holidays, and that bring joy. We also have zero concrete plans for Thanksgiving. I need to figure that out.
How was your week in training? What are your Thanksgiving plans? Anyone else just ready to dive into holiday movies and cozy things?

Happy Anniversary! Looks like a good way to celebrate.
I just can’t put up holiday decorations until after Thanksgiving. It just doesn’t feel right to me! I am starting to shop, tho!

Happy anniversary. My friends live in Flagler beach.
With two new cats not sure if decorating is safe this year.
I’m all in with the hallmark movies.
This is my last gym week.

Happy anniversary!
I’m half way there with you on getting going on the holidays. I usually spend all day Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving decorating for Christmas, but I’m toying with doing it earlier this year since we won’t be hosting Thanksgiving this year. Time will tell if I decide to be bold and start early. 😉

I still have my fall decor out, but I fully support your Christmas-y mood! After all, Starbucks has their holiday drinks out- we should start the celebrations.
Some weeks are hard. Our weather has been gross as well, which I didn’t appreciate for my race yesterday! You did a good job of getting out there anyway. And, our marching band season isn’t quite over because our team is going to the playoffs, and the band will be playing at every game.
Glad Luna is okay- keep the pug pics coming!

I love your nails!! Yes i had an off week too for so many reasons. I am ready for the holidays to be here!! But also not ready — so much to do and with Thanksgiving being later this year I know it will sneak up to quickly.

Very bittersweet about band ending. I do miss those days!! Love your new shoes. I am a big fan of bright colored shoes. I did notice that there were a lot of pastel colors offered when I was at the running store this past week. Sorry but I’m still in the Thanksgiving decor over here. LOL! 🙂
Happy anniversary, and I hope Luna is all better soon!

Happy anniversary! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I’m focused on that right now. If all things holiday make you happy, go for it!

I love your nails. Do you do gel? Or SNS or BIAB? I just learned about the latter two and am trying them out…
Well done working the polls- what a long day but a cool experience.
