Happy National Hat Day! Of course, the best way to celebrate is by raving about our favorite hats: Alter Ego Running! I am incredibly lucky to be an ambassador for AER for the second year, and I love being a part of this local community! Even more, I love the gorgeous running hats!

About Alter Ego Running Hats
Alter Ego Running is the passion project of brothers Stephen and Matt Izzo, who longed to create great running gear while honoring their Army veteran father. Fueled by an idea, a dream, and love of the open trail, they built a brand that showed people a way to find the balance between daily life and the freedom of running and fitness. On that journey, they developed a fantastic hat that’s perfect for lifestyle and running alike! Oh, and they’ve got apparel and accessories, too!

Find A Size & Style For Everyone!
Alter Ego hats come in a variety of sizes and styles, so there’s a little something for everyone, especially on National Hat Day. Personally, I prefer the more traditional ball cap style of the Coaster or Trotter, but your mileage may vary! The Cruiser is great for cyclists, while the Beanies are perfect for colder weather outings. Hats come in three sizes, depending on your head measurements, which means you can always find the right fit! And you’ll also find classic and seasonal offerings from Alter Ego running, so you can keep it neutral or stay on top of the holidays!

Hats Make Great Sun Protection
In Florida, it’s important to watch out for the harmful rays of the sun, and it’s easy to add an AER hat to my fit when I’m heading out for a run in full sun. Even though I usually prefer visors, the fact that these hats are so lightweight and dry so quickly means that they aren’t making me hotter while I’m walking, running, or enjoying coffee at the beach. I love it when safety meets fashion so nicely!

Great Protection From Precipitation, Too!
Some people love hats to protect them from the sun, but I use them to protect me from the rain. Alter Ego Running’s high performance material sloughs the rain right off, keeping it out of my eyes (contact lens wearers will understand) and making sure my face stays dry. Even when drenched, my hat dries out quickly, so it’s ready to go again the next day.

Hats Are Great Race Swag!
Alter Ego Running hosts an annual 5K and 10 Mile race in Ponte Vedra, and it’s so nice to get a brand new hat as part of the swag bag. This is one of my favorite running hats – I love the color and it’s so lightweight and comfortable!

And I Love The Sense Of Community!
Nothing is more fun than finding members of your “team” out in public! In addition to their awesome hats and gear, Alter Ego Running builds community, with races and group runs. They also have an established group of ambassadors, who are organized into Teams (Team Timbers over here!) to help boost camaraderie and friendships! You know I’ll all about community building so that makes things so much more fun!
