Why do we need love AND coffee? Well, the longest month of 2025 is over, and February is not off to a promising start. Sigh. Of course, all we can do is caffeinate and keep moving.

After reading here, head on over to visit Coco and Deborah, our awesome link-up hosts.

Time to get our coffee on!
Over Coffee, I Would Tell You…
That I actually ordered a hot latte, specifically so I could have the little dog artwork on the foam. It was a cooler morning so I could justify not having an iced version. I hated drinking this because it was just so cute.

I Would Also Share…
That we’ve had fun with some little trips over this first part of the year. First up was Biloxi, which I never expected to enjoy, and then it was off to Safety Harbor in Florida. We didn’t have nearly enough time in either place, but also, I was glad to get home from both.

With Coffee In Hand, I Would Tell You…
That I tendered my resignation from our Scouts troop this week. Would you believe I’ve been in my position for five years? I offered to stay in my role through May because people aren’t chomping at the bit to step up, but another parent did, in fact, offer to take over, so I may be finished sooner. A just has his Eagle project to complete, and then it will be time to close this chapter. Yes, I cried a little. But it’s a good thing.

If We Were Having Coffee, I Would Share…
That scheduling will keep me from the Gate River Run AND BDR Orlando this year. I’ve been trying to make it work, but there’s just no way I can do it. It’s a first world problem, for sure, but it’s also hard to miss out on these huge, community events. I’ll get it next year. And of course, I’ll have to make up for it with something else. The FOMO is so real.

My Final Coffee Thought Is…
That I am struggling with motivation and bringing myself joy this month. My friends are sick. Things are kind of awful. Stress is building. So I’m trying to ensure that I go do the things that will bring me joy and that I remember to enjoy the little things. Even though I won’t get to see my girlfriends for Galentine’s Day, I’m still going to make waffles and frittatas, and maybe we will celebrate something for Valentine’s Day as well.

What would you share with me over coffee? What are you loving this month?

Aww, I would’ve had a hard time drinking that too! Way too cute.
I’m also trying to do things that bring me joy so things don’t seem quite so bleak right now. Hang in there! <3
It’s all we can do! We’ve got this!
I did not realize you only drank iced coffee. That is a super cute dog design. Focusing on the things that make you happy instead of dwelling on things out of your control, is always a great plan
For the most part. I’ll get a hot cafe con leche from my favorite Cuban restaurant, but iced coffee makes me happy.
I love that latte design! That would make me smile for sure.
You’ve given a lot of years to the Scouts! Glad you are able to pass off the baton.

My replacement is awesome, too! I’m so glad i have someone happy to step in to the spot.
I want another puppy latte right now!
Awww, what a cute pupster in the foam on your hot latte. I would be tempted to order one, and I don’t like coffee. 😉
Congrats on your retirement from the scouts!
There’s no way I wasn’t getting that little foam dog!
What a cute design – I don’t think I would want to drink it either.
Congrats on wrapping up your time with the scouts – 5 years is quite the commitment!
It’s a really long time! I am so glad i was able to do it, but it’s time.
This year even when it’s cold, I’m drinking cold brew but if they offered a cat in the foam, I’d switch.
It’s hard to race and travel… both take time and there is never enough.
I wondered why you didn’t choose BDR Orlando since you live closer than safety harbor.
We need to plan a race together.
BDR Orlando is almost ALWAYS Gate River Run weekend, which is hard to let go. There’s just no way to do them both.
We really do!
I absolutely prefer iced coffee, but this was too cute to miss.
Wow, that’s a long time with the Scouts! I’m sure they’re grateful for all your time with them. I feel ya on the January being long and not that great. I love the idea of finding joy and happiness when you can! It’s still so cold, snoy and icy here that it’s hard to make myself get out of the house and do things, which doesn’t help with the winter blues.
So long. I love it, but A is mostly moved on and the new parents need their time to shine. Stay positive! We’ve got this!
It’s tough to walk away from the Scouting gig. It was bittersweet when the son finished his Eagle project. He was able to wrap it up at age 14 (with a lot of coaxing from his parents, LOL), which was a blessing because his HS years just kept getting more busy, and we feared the Merit badges would get lost in the shuffle.blogspot.com
I would have ordered the same but with the promise of a cat! I hope you’ll find joy this month.
I’d be a total sucker for that doggy latte as well. So cute! It’s sad to close the chapters on various things as our kids grow. I too was sad when scouts ended, then ice skating, then marching band. But there are always exciting new beginnings as well, so I hold onto that. I am grateful that we are gaining 3 minutes of daylight every day in February AND that I get to visit BOTH of our kids this month! It’s the little things!
