race report: tour de pain – 4 mile beach run {8.7.2015}

August 26, 2015      38 Comments

Last year was my first go at Tour De Pain (day 1 & day 2). When I completed the last mile of the three race series, I was pretty adamant that I could take it or leave it the next time it popped up on the calendar. And then it did pop up on the calendar and I decided I couldn't leave ...

Stand back. After last week's sad tally of miles, this week was monumental. Are you ready? Twenty-four point six. And, yes. I'm still tired. Shall we begin? Sunday - 11 miles I haven't run double digit mileage since the Walt Disney World Marathon, and I confess, it's a bit of a ...

I can't believe I only blogged one time last week! Sheesh! I guess summer vacation is having that kind of effect on me! Now, that doesn't mean I haven't been working my rear off! A lot has been going on and motivation has been at an all-time low, mostly because of the heat. Ugh. During the day, I ...

the need for speed

April 11, 2014      6 Comments

Between the Gate and this week, my longest distance has been about three miles and I have been completely forgoing my speed work. It's been a good break, and probably much-needed, even if it was frustrating to feel like I had lost all the ground gained over the last year. I had a good weekend and ...

the solution to my shoelace problem

April 3, 2014      17 Comments

One thing I have noticed about myself, since I started running, is that I am very particular about the things on my person when I head out for a training session. The toes of my socks have to be positioned just-so. My ponytail can't be too high or too low or too tight or too loose. my Armpocket ...

January ➡️ planks
February ➡️ balance

Lately, I’ve had the urge to get back in a gym. Kickboxing is out for right now but I think I could take on boot camp or spin.

Then I felt a little guilty about spending the money when I have some weights and bands at home, our neighborhood has a gym, and I have a surgical procedure on the horizon (boo, wisdom teeth), so I thought I would work my way up to group classes by starting at home.

Day 1 done! ✅ with an assist from @sweetlunapug!
