We are close to the end of the month of September and while I don’t know if that’s a good thing, I am trying really hard to get into the swing of the fall season. It’s hard when the leaves don’t change color and the temperatures hover in the high 80s and 90s, but I’m taking the little dips and breezes when I can, leaning into soup season and hoping for the best.

Sunday
- Cardio: 5.31 miles, walking
Since I was still pet sitting, it was harder to get out super early. I had to get everyone potted, fed, and watered to make sure they were good before I left the house. They are great critters, but with six of them, it takes a minute.

Once I was done with all the house chores, I headed to the couch with my book, my laptop, and a couple of snuggly dogs and cats. Heaven.
Monday
- Cardio: 7 miles, running
Happy Monday! Another week! And it was the official first day of fall! Did it feel like it? Not really! But that’s ok! My plan was to stretch my intervals out a little: I’m using the Couch To 5K timer and then just repeating sessions to achieve the mileage I want. At the moment, I’m doing run 5 minutes, walk 3, and will keep with that for a bit.

It was the Fall Equinox as well, so I scooted home to make a delicious and cozy lasagna soup. This is my favorite soup of all time: I just love the ruffly mafaldine pasta and the dollop of ricotta on top. It’s so easy to make: you can check it out here.

Tuesday
- Cardio: 6.64 miles running + .55 miles, walking
Yay for going home day! But first, let’s run!

I love being with my clients, but I also love coming home. After walking my weekly regular, I was able to settle into my regular routine.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 6.26 miles, walking
Even when it’s not super cold, I do love the sunrises and sunsets in fall. They are just so stunning. Today was designated as a recovery walking day, and I did my miles at home, plus added some for my dog walk.

In the evening, I met up with the book club. We read “The Seven Year Slip” by Ashley Poston, and our overall rating was 3.5 stars. It was cute and fun, and I enjoyed it!

Thursday
- Cardio: 6.01 miles, running + .49 miles, walking
I hit the ground running, literally. Thursdays are for speed work, so I went in for one minute sprints, followed by one minute of recovery, for about 16 rotations. Yay.

And then I had to scramble to get going. After my last dog walk of the week, we had reservations through Yelp at a Selfie Showroom waaaay up on the north side of Jacksonville. A car fire didn’t help the situation. It was super cute and fun.

We were ravenous, so we grabbed dinner in Atlantic Beach, before going to the Grey Matter Distillery for their Halloween Pop Up. It’s a super cute bar, but we never go because it’s so far away. They do an immersive experience, with special themed cocktails, and I love their creativity.

Friday
- Cardio: 6.6 miles, running
TGIF! It was hot and muggy and foggy and gross. I have nothing else to say.

I spent the rest of the day cooking, and cleaning, and working. We have a busy weekend ahead and I want to get a jump on it all.
Saturday
- Cardio: 4.35 miles walking
I got in a quick walk before our road trip to Orlando!

A was taking his girlfriend to Halloween Horror Night, and we had plans to do other Halloween things. Ive been to HHN once, and that was quite enough for me.
Thoughts + Goals
So another week where the gym didn’t pan out. I just can’t find time to fit it in. Sometimes I’m tired and sometimes I’m overscheduled, and that’s the thing that falls off. What can you do?
In the meantime, I’ve really started working on my own organization. I’ve revived my recipes and Pinterest page and am really looking to being more strategic with blogging and my social media. It gives me so much joy to bring everything together.
Oh, A got his charter org rep sign off for his Eagle project AND earned 1st chair for wind ensemble. So happy on both counts.
