Welcome to Runs With Pugs, the story of a how a husband and wife embarked on a journey that began with Couch 2 5K and extended far beyond the nine week program.
My name is Jenn. I’m the founder of the blog Runs With Pugs, living in Northeast Florida with my husband, tweenage son, a grumble of pugs and a grumpy hedgehog.
I am the Sales & Community Events Coordinator for the St. Augustine Moms Blog, and I serve on the board of my son’s school PTSO and as a committee member of his BSA Troop. I love volunteering my time and positively impacting our community.
When I’m not writing or momming, I fill my time with travel, running, yoga, hiking, reading and enjoying yummy foods.
But let me tell you a bit more about the running.
Once upon a time….
Mr. PugRunner and I were married in 2006. Shortly after, we pulled up roots (and our three pugs) in order to relocate and start a family. We welcomed our one and only son in 2008, and we could not have been happier.
Bitten by the running bug…
In 2013, Mr PugRunner and I began running as a way to keep active and share a mutual interest. Our first goal was to enter in a local 5K and from there, I planned to go on to a 10K. Mr PugRunner didn’t think he was interested in longer distances.
We completed our first 5K on Memorial Day, 2013, and we were hooked.
Our son loved it, too.
Little did I know but the siren song of sparkly medals turned out to be more temptation than I could resist, and I found myself registering for a half marathon before I was halfway through with C25K.
Whoops.
In 2014, Mr PugRunner joined me for his first half
and has run several since.
I made a huge commitment and took on 26.2 miles at the WDW Marathon to kick off 2015.
What’s next for Runs With Pugs?
Since my first pair of running shoes, I’ve completed 20 half marathons, and a Ragnar Trail Relay. My next goal? 50 Races in 50 States!
I hope you’ll join us for our continuing adventures!
