We blinked and it’s December. Thank you for joining us for our last Ultimate Coffee Date of the year!

After reading here, head on over to visit Coco and Deborah, our awesome link-up hosts.

Time to get our coffee on!
Over Coffee, I Would Tell You…
I finally got a new phone! We aren’t a household that upgrades too often, but my 14 Pro Max was in abominable shape. This was the version that was glass all the way around, and while it was beautiful, it was the most fragile thing I ever owned. Every time I’ve upgraded phones, I’ve been able to turn in my old one for a huge rebate based on its stellar condition, but this time… ooof. Fortunately, the promotion we used allowed me to turn in this absolutely destroyed device for a new one. I’m so happy!

I Would Also Share…
An extremely scary pet sitting story that could have gone very wrong. I contracted with a client for dog walks while they were out of town. We agreed on times, and I was due to start at 8AM on a particular day. I confirmed, and the client said they would walk the dog before they left. My takeaway was that they were leaving incredibly early and I would just be supplementing their walk. And that was so wrong. I got to their house, opened the garage door and attempted to enter their house while they were still home, based on our written agreement, our text, and payment. Fortunately, they saw me on their security camera, so we were all able to chalk it up to a miscommunication, but looking back, that could have ended soooo badly. The pet was awesome and the rest of the visit went smoothly, but yikes.

With Coffee In Hand, I Would Tell You…
That we have had more dangerous situations around here this month. In the last three days, we’ve had three man hunts within miles of where I live. What is going on? The first one ended in a fatality, and I’m not sure how tonight’s incidents concluded. Stay safe out there.

If We Were Having Coffee, I Would Share…
That I’m still a member of the no-cavities club! I am finally chilling out at the dentist a little, and while I hate it, it’s always nice to not have to deal with anything other than the routine cleaning.

My Final Coffee Thought Is…
That we are really leaning in to some nice times for the holidays. My mom and I are taking an ornament making class and having a cookie baking day. We will be doing some holiday pop-ups and events. It’s just the way I like it.

What would you share with me over coffee? What are you loving this month?

Ornament-making class and cookie baking sound fun! I love this time of year. And how scary with the owner being home — glad it all worked out ok in the end!
It’s a good time of the year for sure.
It was scary and I’m glad we were all to laugh about it, but that could have ended sooo badly.
An ornament making class? I want to hear more about this! I’ll be baking cookies soon- hopefully this weekend.
I think you definitely were due for a new phone! And… all’s well that ends well, but I can see how that was a scary situation with the pet sitting! I originally thought it was going to be about something happening to the dog, so phew. Glad everyone is okay.
I will absolutely share!
And I am so excited about the cookies!
The phone has been limping along for years. Who thought a glass housing was a good idea???
All the pets are a-ok, thank goodness. We had a laugh and I said “Well, I’m here, so let me take him for his walk while you finish packign up the car.” It worked out.
I’m glad that everything worked out with that owner, especially given some of the stories I’ve seen recently!
An ornament making class sounds like so much fun! I hope you’ll share pictures of what you make.
Florida is VERY much a stand your ground state. It could have gone VERY badly.
I will absolutely share photos. I am so excited. It’s this little party shop who does the most lovely little workshops. I’m so glad we can squeeze it in.
I’m way overdue for a new phone. I have a 12 I think but I love the size. The newer phones are so big. Hard to carry as a runner.
I got used to the bigger phone. Now the regular ones feel so small! I have a magnetic finger loop on mine so it’s not hard to carry it with me.
How fun to take an ornament decorating class with your mom! My mom and I had a cookie baking day every year and it was always so fun! I think my dad liked it best because he was our official taster. 😉
I love the improved camera on my new phone – I upgraded in August from an 11 Pro to the 16 Pro and there’s such a difference.
I’m glad you were able to turn in your destroyed phone for a new one! (I really wish they were more durable!!)
No-cavity club!?!? That’s amazing!! I feel like I was born with super weak enamel (I chalk it up to being born 2.5 months early, haha 🙁 ), so I am decidedly envious.
How was the ornament-making class!? :]
