Happy February! Yes, it’s the sweetest month of the year, and I’m here for the fun!

After reading here, head on over to visit Coco and Deborah, our awesome link-up hosts.

Time for coffee! You know I’m loving pistachio season!
Over Coffee, I Would Tell You…
That I’m probably going to miss the Super Bowl this year. I’m not really a fan of either team, and I won’t be home for a big chunk of it, anyway. We usually have some kind of get together, and I admit it’s sort of nice knowing that I can grab some takeout or snacks, and fast forward through the football bits to get to the commercials and music. I’m super excited for Green Day: they remain one of my all time favorites!

I Would Also Share…
That I didn’t realize the Olympics started until I saw athletes start doing food reviews from the dining halls in Milan. Oops. I always used to be a big figure skating fan, in the 80s and 90s, but somewhere along the line I stopped following. I just saw a performance by the “QuadGod” Ilia Malinin, who completed seven quad jumps in his routine, and I was blown away by how much the sport has evolved. I might try to follow the skating.

With Coffee In Hand, I Would Tell You…
That it was so good to have a little break to get my nails done. I’m working almost every day this month, so it’s always great to engage in a little self-care. Lately, I’ve been going for a more minimal look, but I couldn’t resist little hearts for Valentine’s Day.

If We Were Having Coffee, I Would Share…
Is that due to scheduling, wellness, and weather, I ran at three different times this week. Of course, there was my regular morning workout. And then I did one at lunchtime and one in the evening. Runch was ok. Evening was awful. I am looking foward to getting back on my regular schedule. It was a great reminder of why I do what I do, when I do it!

My Final Coffee Thought Is…
That I don’t have a lot of time for social activities this month, but I am going to a book bedazzling party! It’s where you decorate your favorite volumes with rhinestones to create a gorgeous showpiece! I am super grateful to my book club friends for organizing and I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!

What would you share with me over coffee? What are you loving this month?

A bedazzled party. How fun.
Not a football fan. Usually watch halftime show. lol.
Love the nails. I always go for basic French. It lasts longer.
I love watching the skating. Not sure I’ll have time because I’ll be in Florida.
Welcome to Florida! I hope it was great!
Loved the halftime show!
The schedule for the Olympics is so confusing. Since we don’t watch NBC very much we’ve missed all the adds and promos for it. I think our cable package includes Peacock so we can catch it on there too.
We’ll be watching the Superbowl, but I workfess I will be multitasking on a presentation I have to give on Monday. 😉
This is where streaming gets me. I miss just being able to turn on the TV, and everything was just on. Now with streaming, you have to find the right platform and the right time, and I just don’t have the patience. I watch clips on TikTok and I feel very caught up.
Hope your presentation went well today!
Somehow I keep forgetting about the Olympics!!! The opening ceremonies are tonight (right?) I don’t love the winter games like I do summer, but I’ll still watch as much as I can.
I always start off excited about the Super Bowl, making a special meal and everything… and then by halftime it’s dawning on me that the next day is Monday, I have to get up at 5, and I better finish the dishes and get that laundry done… having it on Sunday night kind of ruins the second half for me.
Even though I’m a Valentine’s Day scrooge, I love your nails!
I missed the opening ceremonies, but the outfits were something.
I sat on a couch and ate leftovers lol. It was fine. Maybe next year I’ll put in some more effort. With my schedule, a crazy Sunday night isn’t too terrible, but I just wasn’t into the game this year.
I am looking forward to my Valentine’s nails today too! Always fun. Afternoon and evening running is always challenging for me. I guess our bodies get used to a certain schedule
My body says Let’s get this done before 8AM!
I’m with you, evening (or even afternoon) runs are for the birds, but I understand that with busy schedules, sometimes it’s the only time to fit in a run.
I’ll be curious to see the results of your bedazzling party. Sounds like a fun evening with friends! Your nails look cute, BTW!
You have to do what you have to do!
I can’t wait to bedazzle!
My husband is a big downhill ski fan, otherwise I think I would have been completely out of the loop on when the Olympics are starting. I usually try to catch some of the figure skating.
I will have the Super Bowl on and cheering for the Patriots 🙂
Have fun at your bedazzling party!
Sorry about the Pats! Honestly, I usually just wish for a good game, but this was pretty slow and noneventful.
Downhill skiing is cool! Not for me, of course, but these athletes are absolutely fearless!
Reading The Favorites got me excited for ice dancing and skating and I generally just love the feel good stories. I feel terrible for these athletes having to come from the US at this time and I hope that nothing crazy happens during the games.
I’m excited for the half time show and I’m routing for the Seahawks (read: against the Pats – lol)
I never enjoy running at night unless it’s a group fun run.
I know. And they are being so diplomatic in their answers and still getting so much pushback.
I heard about the owner of the Seahawks, and what she stands for and does, so that made my choice easy. I was happy they won!
I’m lucky in that my body can tolerate running any time of the day (or night). The past week has seen a full moon run, early morning run, a late afternoon run, and a post-workday run. Your bedazzle party sounds fun!
I actually did better than I thought I would, but I didn’t enjoy it. I also feel super limited because it’s usually so hot that the only time to get runs in is before the sun rises or after it sets. With the weather how it is, obviously, things are more flexible.
I really couldn’t care less about the SB this year. I’ll watch the commercials, that’s it. Good for you for being so flexible with your run times. The bedazzled books sound very fancy. I’d love to see the finished product!
I think it’s going to be so pretty when it’s done!
THe game was incredibly boring. I think the highlight was the streaker who got tackled by an actual football player because the security guards couldn’t keep up. Loved halftime, and then it was off to bed.
Love the manicure! I haven’t had one in months, ugh, so I definitely need to step it up on the self-care practices!
I used to be really into figure skating too back in the day. I just saw a clip of a routine online and it was so good. I’m always amazed at their athleticism!
The skaters are outstanding this year. I love it.
I do make it a point to get my nails done once a month. It’s a little splurge, but I love them.
I think I’ve only watched the Super Bowl once, but had I been around, I might actually have tried to watch the halftime show! It looked awesome! <3
I didn't realize the Olympics had started already either — I usually just watch gymnastics, but ice skating is beautiful!
Your nails look so nice! <3
Thank you!
Superbowl, for me, is more about the party and the fun. I don’t care too much about the game (or football anymore, really). The Olympics are just hard to keep up with – I’m on the go so much that I just don’t have the energy to figure out where and when the sports I like are on.
