I can’t remember a time where I have been quite as busy as I am this week and month. It will ease as the month passes, but for the moment, I am all over the place! It’s all good things and I’m grateful, but I am looking forward to my next day off!

Sunday
- Cardio: 2.04 miles, walking
I was exhausted from the birthday celebrations, and I had a ton to do before brunch and heading out to my first overnight job of the month. And in the meantime, our washing machine and irrigation system were both broken. Stressful? Yes. But I was still able to get in a couple of quick miles, and that’s the point.

It was also freezing. I had on four tops, gloves, two pairs of socks, and hand warmers. Not fun.
After a wonderful time with our friends, I packed my suitcase and moved into another friends’ house for a couple of days! First clients: a sweet pup and two kitties. Yes!
Monday
- Cardio: 5 miles, running + .54 miles walking
Happy Monday! It was freezing cold when I woke up, and so I wasn’t in a huge rush to get out the door. I opted to wait for my scheduled dog walk to squeeze in my run and got my miles in over lunchtime It’s definitely not my norm, and I didn’t love it.

Tuesday
- Cardio: 2.04 miles, running + 1.6 miles, walking
Deep breath. My day would start in one house, and end in another, with two dog walks in between. Could we do it? Of course!

It meant a shortened afternoon run, and lots of packing and driving, but I was up for the challenge. And I was very happy to tumble into bed that night, too. Oh, and I tried a new set from CVG: I’ve been in need of leggings for the colder temps, and this was super cute with the little heart lollipops. It fit well, it’s comfortable, and the price was right. I’ll shop them again, for sure.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 4.66 miles, walking
New house, new morning routine! I got it moving and enjoyed a walk outside in the gorgeous cold sun. I also had two dog walks, where I ran into this chonky squirrel. I wish I could you could hear the way he was loudly munching on his stick. Talk about ASMR!

Thursday
- Cardio: 3.02 miles, running + .57 miles, walking.
It rained in the night and I woke up with a nasty migraine. It always happens when the weather shifts. I was completely unprepared, and had to power through it until early afternoon when I was able to get to the store. Ugh. I hydrated, got some food in my system, handled my clients, and got my nails done.

After meds and a nap, I decided I was going to try an evening run. I wanted to move, my headache was gone, and the weather was good. Friends, I hated it. Night running is not for me! But I got through a workout, and that’s what counts! The sunset was pretty, though.

Friday
- Cardio: 5.88 miles, running
Another cold morning, but the sun was shining, my head felt great, and I couldn’t wait to do a morning run! It was so much better! And check out this gorgeous falcon, just hanging out on a mailbox. Birds unnerve me a bit, but I was brave to get this shot.

A last minute walk cancellation meant that I could spend the day catching up on all the work I didn’t do yesterday before starting some dropins for the weekend. It was a much-needed break.
Saturday
- Cardio: 4.4 miles, walking
After I checked my schedule, it turns out I had to be up and out the door immediately after the morning’s feeding. There was a local race going on en route to my next house and I was worried about getting hung up in road closures! For a quick moment, I thought about stopping in to see if I could just register, and call that my morning miles, but by the time I passed, parking was full and you know how I stress about parking. Instead, I detoured to a pretty location I know and took a walk there instead.

The rest of the day was chill, interspersing visits with hanging out. I snagged books for upcoming clubs at our local bookshop and dove into a new-to-me show: “All Her Fault.”
Thoughts + Goals
As you can surely see, my miles are way down this week. It’s not that I haven’t been moving… I’ve just been a little too scheduled. I’m fitting in what i can, when I can, and that’s really the name of the game. My justification is that I’ll just treat this as a rest week, and get it back on Monday. Easy peasy.
As for the gym? Well, I’ll have some more time for that next week, if I play my cards right.
I try not to be too specific, but if you were keeping count, I saw a total of TEN animals this week: seven dogs, two cats, and a lizard! On my busiest day, I saw eight of them in a 12 hour window.
We’ve got Valentine’s Day coming up. Sadly, I won’t be able to celebrate any fun Galentine’s events, but my book club is doing a book bedazzling party, and I am so ready for that! I picked out my book today: it has a pretty hardcover, and will look gorgeous with some bling!
I also don’t have any plans for the big game, and I don’t have much planned to watch for the Olympics! It’s been hard to really sit down and focus on that!

My miles are way down too. too cold to move.
Ir will end, right?
Love the nails. I got mine done yesterday but just French (as always)
Enjoy your book club party – what fun!
More jobs booked=more $$
You are correct… And I love $$$!
French is so classic.
It will end. We are already coming to a thaw! I can’t wait to bedazzle my book!
That is a busy week- a lot of clients!!! Luckily animals are the best- I’m sure the logistics were stressful, but animals are usually soothing.
Yes, it must have been SO COLD up there, because we were even cold down here. I was a wimp and moved most of my runs to the afternoon. Now we’re back to 50s at night, which I love.
That squirrel is hilarious.
They really are the best. I didn’t even go out for Superbowl last night. The owner was like “I figured you would throw a party?” Ma’am, my party is playing Candy Crush under a blanket while your two puppies snore on my lap. Heaven.
Looks like you are busy! Sounds like Ike your clients really trust you with their pets. WE are all dealing with crazy cold. Hope this week is better. Love the nails!
This week sucks because I have to get another chunk cut out of my ear (just to be on the safe side), but then we will get back to vibing with dogs. I’m all about that.
Busy week! I would be a bit scared of the falcon but it’s beautiful! Is it common to see them like that in populated areas? That footpath in the photo next to it looks so lovely for a walk or run.
I was terrified. Birds freak me out quite a bit, and I kept my distance. The zoom on my iphone is awesome lol. We do see them quite a bit. Honestly, they don’t really have anywhere else to go.
The nice things about staying in different neighborhoods is having new places to explore.
It looks like a busy week but glad to hear the job is going well! We have had the worst weather – so cold! But been staying busy inside at least. We haven’t seen any falcons around here but I do someimtes see big birds of prey, eagles and owls!
We definitely have eagles and owls, but they don’t come quite as close. The hawks and falcons are way more interested in landing in the neighborhoods in full view.
Honestly, I wouldn’t have even tried going for an afternoon run, so I give you tons of credit for that!
It must be hard having all those clients around town. You need an algorithm to help you schedule your stops efficiently!
I’ve got it down to a great science at this point. My radius is pretty small (I think 5 miles), but I do have some favorites and friends who are outside the range. As long as I get up and stick to the schedule, I get it done!
You got to watch a lizard too? How fun! Your business is really taking off! Wow, 8 in 12 hours. Go you!
That’s a great picture of the falcon too. Hey, my miles were done this week and I might not even run any next week! Kudos to you for fitting it in when you can. (and for finding all of those layers to keep you warm this week )
Ha! My suitcase is a mish mash of random items to wear. I think we are warming up again, so we will see! The lizard is super cool. he’s not interactive, but I like him!
It sounds like you had a super-busy week, so sometimes you have to pull back a bit. You can’t do everything all the time… there’s always tomorrow 😉
You are absolutely right! Sometimes, it is nice to be a little lazy!
Wow, what a busy week! I feel you–this month has been crazy for me too! I finally hunkered down and tackled my big items on my to-do list. Hopefully, things will get less hectic for you. And warmer weather is coming!
Gorgeous falcon photo, Jenn!
I was so scared!!!! If he flew at me, I was going to expire on the spot.
How great is it that your business has taken off so well, and what a wide variety of animal clients you see!
That’s a beautiful falcon and a great capture, Jenn! We have hawks in our back yard, but I don’t believe we have falcons in our immediate area.
I’m hoping to get something like a rabbit or a guinea pig soon. <3 Fingers crossed!
