If you aren’t familiar with the best “made-up” holiday on the calendar, let’s get you up to speed. Galentine’s Day (celebrated on February 13th) is all about “ladies celebrating ladies.” It’s a day to leave the romance at the door and shine a spotlight on the friendships that keep us sane, supported, and (in our case) running.Whether it’s the friend who listens to your 5:00 AM rants or the crew that shows up for every finish line, our “gals” are the real MVPs. Here are five ways to celebrate your circle this year!

The Iconic Themed Brunch
In the wise words of Leslie Knope, “We need to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, work.” A Galentine’s brunch is a non-negotiable. Whether you’re heading to your favorite local spot or hosting a “waffle bar” at home, make it fabulous. Set up a mimosa bar or mocktails, and don’t forget all your favorite toppings!

Get Crafty!
There is something so nostalgic about sitting down with a stack of paper and some markers. Host a low-key crafting night! Look up some great Leslie Knope and girl power quotes, grab some glitter, and customize them for your favorite ladies! Or check out local events for flower arranging, candle pouring, or wreath making events! Always so fun!

The Waffle & Sparkle Gift Pack
If you want to surprise your girls with a little something special, lean into the Galentine’s waffle theme with a runner’s twist! Create a “Waffle & Sparkle” gift pack, with a mini bottle of champagne (or sparkling cider) decorated with biodegradable glitter (you can even add a custom label), and tie a Stroopwafel or a Honey Stinger waffle to the neck of the bottle with a festive ribbon. It’s a fun, thoughtful nod to the “Galentine’s Brunch” tradition, but in a portable, track-ready format. Plus, that waffle is great running fuel!

Set Up a Galentine’s Day Run
You knew this was coming! Organize a special group run for your buddies. Keep the pace “social” (meaning: plenty of breath for chatting) and encourage everyone to wear their brightest festive gear. There is nothing like a few miles with your favorite people to remind you that community is what it’s all about!

Wear a “Cute Fit” (And Take the Photos!)
Whether you’re on the trail or out on the town, Galentine’s (and Valentine’s) is the excuse to lean into the aesthetic. Toss on all the pinks, reds, and hearts, and don’t forget to take pics of you looking stunning!

Tell me everything! How are you celebrating your girls this year? Are you a “cocktails and cute fits” crew or a “let’s hit the trails and eat waffles” squad? Drop a comment below and tag your best running gal!
