There’s going to be a lot of love in this post. After all, we just wrapped up a week dedicated to that very thing!

Sunday
- Cardio: 4 miles, walking
It promised to be a pretty full day. After taking care for animals in one house, I headed off for a last visit with my favorite boxer pups, and to enjoy a chilly walk. I love how the cooler weather is so much more pleasant for exercise.

After a bunch of running around, and even visiting home for a bit, I settled in for the night. The Big Game was on, but I wasn’t at all paying much attention. It wasn’t a very exciting game, and not even the commercials held my attention. The best part was the message that “The only thing more powerful than hate is love” lit up on the jumbotron with fireworks. More of this energy, please.

Monday
- Cardio: 6.05 miles, running
Yay for Monday run-day! And yay for finding a new little area to explore. It’s always nice to have a change of scenery.

Tuesday
- Cardio: 5.11 miles, running + .36 miles, walking
Another great run in another pretty area. It really makes such a difference.

On the not fun side, it was back to the dermatologist to deal with the ear situation. The PA gave me some options: they could do a monthly freeze on the area where the wart was and keep an eye on things, or they could do a 6mm punch to remove a larger sample. While the last biopsy results didn’t show anything nefarious, they also couldn’t guarantee there wasn’t anything lurking under the wart. I had zero interest in coming back every month, and also…why wouldn’t we want to rule out anything cancerous? We went for the punch. And then we treated me to Mexican for lunch (and my leftovers were dinner – double win!)

In the evening, I had a nice dog walk, and then it was time to move back home! Yay!
Wednesday
- Cardio: 6.21 miles, walking
After my procedure, I’m supposed to take it a little easy, so I did a combination of walking myself and walking some clients. I was fine, although a little tired. It happens. The coolest thing was running into this self-serve bake stand at one of the houses! They had little king cakes and cookies! I would have totally bought one, if I hadn’t been over a mile from my car. You all know I hate carrying things.

In the evening, A performed with the jazz band. Although marching band is over, we are back into wind ensemble season, and it’s nice to have these little shows again.

Thursday
- Cardio: 6.04 miles, walking
I wanted to run, and started out that way, but my ear was stinging just a little so I backed off. Sigh.

Since I haven’t been home much, it was nice to catch up on errands and all the things. I did some shopping, worked my way through laundry, and was glad to meet up with some friends for dinner (yay for no cooking!)
Friday
- Cardio: 6.54 miles, walking
I decided to just hold off on running again until Monday. It will just be easier. I got in plenty of miles between myself a couple of pups.

Midday, I moved into another friend’s house for a few days. I am looking forward to March when I’m home more times than I’m away.
That evening, the PTO/booster ladies got together for a little Galentine’s gathering. I couldn’t stay long, but it was nice to check in with everyone.

Saturday
- Cardio: 5.47 miles, walking
Happy Valentine’s Day!
My day started obscenely early, which is alright, but I am looking forward to a nap on Monday. I rotated through a bunch of dog walks and me walks, until I got a decent total.

We don’t really go too big for Valentine’s Day, but Mr PugRunner is cooking dinner and we will have a date on Sunday or Monday instead.
Thoughts + Goals
I’m pretty tired, friends. This week had some emotional factors at play that have left me a little drained. But I’m pushing forward, and trying to be mindful of my boundaries and limits.
This week I am looking forward to getting my hair done (yay!) and also, almost a full week at home. I’ve got a race coming up next weekend, and then I’m finishing up the month of work. Nothing too wild or crazy, but plenty on the calendar!

Looks like a busy week fo you! Hope your ear is feeling better and healing well. Those Derm procedures often turn out to be more annoying than advertised. As you say, better to get them taken care of. Cheers to a good week ahead!
So annoying. But hopefully this is done and over with.
You did have a full week. Nice job on getting the ear thing taken care of- now it can heal up and you won’t have to think about it anymore.
We are in a VERY busy band season! So many extra rehearsals and events with the wind ensemble and jazz band. Tomorrow my daughter has an all-day jazz band event in Orlando, getting back at 1 am. And then they have school on Tuesday- who makes these schedules, anyway? It’s going to be hideous.
Yay for a full week at home and a race coming up- enjoy!!!
I hope you’re feeling recovered from the procedure. I think I would have made the same choice!
Sounds like the upcoming week, and the home time, will be a nice rest for you! Mexican food is a perfect treat after that procedure (especially if a margarita was involved ). A monthly freeze definitely sounds like a less than ideal route to go. I hope the ear is feeling all better now! My hair appointment is coming up soon and I am also really looking forward to it.
What a busy week – hopefully you heal soon! Love the pic with the flowers and chocolate! And a future date night sounds GREAT!! I’m jealous – I don’t make it a priority to go out, I’m so lazy and finding childcare for the 3 kids always seems like such a hassle between the finding of the childcare and sports schedules, etc. But I need to do better!
Yes, good on you choosing to 100% ruling out any cancer. Hope it heals up fast!
That gravel road looks beautiful! And that self-serve bake stand, what a lovely and fun idea!
How nice for you to have a full week in your own home after being away so much. Take care of yourself and I hope you’ll get some rest this coming week.
I think you were very smart to go with the punch just so you’ll know that wider margins are clear. I hope this is the last of having to deal with that mole for you.
Enjoy your less hectic week!
I hope you get good news from the biopsy! When will you hear? About your ear…sorry, I had to make the rhyme…
Such a busy week–I can’t imagine spending that much time away from home. I know you are doing what you have to do. It will be so much better when you’re home again! Enjoy that Valentine’s Day celebration. We’re also celebrating tomorrow!
Ouch on the ear situation. Hopefully, the results will bring good news, and this episode will be over and done. I met a few friends for a Galentines gig Friday night 😉 Fun times!
