Winter had its moment, but it’s (mostly) over now. Spring is here and I am not wasting a single second of it. There’s something about this time of year that makes everything feel new and bright. The light shifts, the air changes, and suddenly, you’re feeling motivated and refreshed. These are my favorite ways to lean all the way into spring, soak it up, and remind myself why this is my absolute favorite season.

Out With The Old, In With The New
Spring cleaning gets a bad reputation because…well, who REALLY likes scrubbing baseboards on their hands and knees, but I think it’s actually one of the most cathartic things you can do this time of year. And there’s so many ways to go about it! Clear out the things that are taking up space and not serving you anymore. Purge your cabinets or you running gear. Organize your home office. Clear out your email subscriptions and old apps. We painted the house and are upgrading things like lights and doorknobs to make it all feel new! Spring is a natural reset and it would be a shame not to use it. When you clear out the old, you make room for something better, and who doesn’t love that!

Get Yourself to a Garden
There’s something so very “spring” about being surrounded by things that are blooming. Botanical gardens, local parks, neighborhood streets lined with flowers coming back to life: it’s all on brand. Find somewhere that has color and life, and lean all the way in! Bring your camera… or don’t! Walk slowly. Take it all in. It’s one of the simplest and most genuinely restorative things you can do this time of year (and the cost of admission is usually low). Pro tip: Keep an eye out for baby gators!

Hit The Beach
The beach in spring is one of Florida’s great gifts. Not too hot, not too crowded, and the buys and humidity are low. If you’re a runner, spring beach miles are an absolute treat. The sound of the waves, the salt air, the way the packed sand feels under your feet: it’s all wonderful. Don’t want to run? Take a walk and hunt for shells and shark teeth. Sit out on a blanket with an iced coffee and a good book. The beach in spring will meet you wherever you are.

Take To The Rooftop (Restaurants)
This is non-negotiable for me. Dining in spring is best al fresco, on a roof or at a table near the water. It’s one of my favorite experiences. Find your favorite waterfront restaurant or rooftop spot, grab an outdoor seat, and take your time. Order something you have been craving. Enjoy the views. Let the meal be an event. Spring is the perfect excuse to slow down and savor your food the way it was meant to be savored: outside, in good weather, with no particular reason to rush.

Embrace A Little Whimsy
This is my personal favorite and possibly the most underrated item on this entire list. Let spring make you a little playful. I’m always on the lookout for sweet events to try so I can let myself be delighted by something small and different. Whimsy gets a bad reputation as something frivolous, but I think it’s actually one of the healthiest things you can cultivate. The ability to find joy in small things and not take everything so seriously is kind of everything in my book!

Go Find Your Spring
Welcoming spring is that it doesn’t require a grand plan or commitment. It just requires showing up with joy. Just get out there and let spring do what spring does, which is remind you that good things are always coming back around.
