What? It’s November already, and the march to 2026 continues relentlessly on. Friends, I was slammed this week, and as a result, I write this post from the couch, in my coziest clothes, thrilled with the cold weather, and waiting to fall back and gain that extra hour. Let’s dig into it.

Sunday
- Cardio: 3.16 miles, running (Evergreen Pumpkin Run) + .57 miles, walking
Despite being exhausted, I braved the super early wake up time to head over to the Evergreen Pumpkin Run for the 5K. You can read the recap here.

When I got home, I helped Mr PugRunner on cleaning the house, walked one of my favorite clients, and then took it to the couch. I needed some recovery time.
Monday
- Cardio: 5.75 miles, walking
Usually, Mondays are my long run day, but I raced on Sunday and was experiencing awful nerve pain in my foot, so I decided to just enjoy a beautiful walk on my own, followed by one with the pugs and one with my client.

Then I put together a really yummy sheet pan meal with chicken sausage, walnuts, sweet potato and brussels sprouts. Fall sheet pans are elite.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 6.56 miles, running + 1.73 miles, walking
Tuesday was one of my busiest days of the week. I enjoyed a gorgeous run (we are seeing 50s in the mornings) and then three walking clients! While I love my overnights, I really love walking dogs and am always so glad when I have several of them.

And then in the evening, I made a vegetarian beer cheese soup with homemade pretzels. A said the pretzels were better than any stadium AND better than the ESPN restaurant in Universal CityWalk. Highest compliments!

Wednesday
- Cardio: 6.9 miles, walking
Another walking day, and it was right on time. Again, I had multiple clients who also just loved the cool weather. It’s the best. Just look at that sky.

Thursday
- Cardio: 6.86 miles, running + 2.66 miles, walking
Another day of lots of walks! I started the morning with my run, including some speedwork intervals. It’s aamzing how much faster you cna run when it’s not super hot with high humidity.

Friday
- Cardio: 6.08 miles, running + .9 miles, walking
Happy Halloween! It was literally a marathon of a Friday. We started with a run and two dog walks.

I got my hair done.

And then it was Senior Night. It was a beautiful night full of feelings. I just can’t believe we’re saying goodbye to football season. There are two more performances for the marching band, so I’m glad for that.

We got home entirely too late, but it was a wonderful night.
Saturday
- Cardio: 4.2 miles, walking
And finally, a quieter day. I still had to get up early to get to my next client, but it should be a rather pleasant few days with some awesome pets.

A had one more performance tonight, an exhibition, and I know it’s going to be incredible. We are on the countdown for his big end of year show, and we can’t wait!
Thoughts + Goals
We are deeply entrenched in my favorite time of year. While I want things to be a little more lowkey this year, I really want to lean into more family fun. I’m already working on our Thanksgiving menu. I told Mr PugRunner I want to go hiking on Black Friday, and that weekend, I want to do a big cookie baking with the whole family, including A’s girlfriend. All comfy clothes and snacks, and just good times together.
Running feels great! We got into the 40s this morning, and it’s so bracing and invigorating. Of course, it still warms up but I was happy to break out the gloves and long sleeves, at least for a little bit!

You are right, it is a lot easier to run in cooler weather, especially with low humidity! Glad you’re experiencing that right now. Enjoy your favorite time of year!
It’s so wonnnnnderful!
Sounds like a great week — I love that medal!
Senior year is full of so many bittersweet moments — just soak them all in!
I have not even thought about Thanksgiving!
It was a fun race and they usually have great medals!
I held it together on Senior Night, somehow. I’m not sure how, but not a tear was shed.
I’ve noticed how much easier and faster my walks are going now that it’s gotten cooler. I con only imagine what a difference it’s making for you where your temps are usually much higher than ours.
I’m really looking forward to Thanksgiving this year as everyone will be in town and we’ll be hosting! I’ve got lots of great ideas for things to make floating through my head!
Oh, that will be so exciting. When I get done with work today I’m going to sketch out some menu plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Gloves! You’re wearing gloves!!! We’re not exactly there yet, but we did get down to the 50s a couple nights this week. Wow, what a difference it makes for running!
We had Senior Night too recently- of course my daughter’s only a junior, but my turn is coming… not sure how I feel about that.
I’m all for big holiday plans! I love the idea of a cookie baking extravaganza on Thanksgiving weekend. I hope you post lots of photos!!!
In fairness, I have Raynaud’s so I need a little extra protection. I don’t keep them on the whole time, usually.
I will post photos for sure!
