This week was better. Much better.
I was still dragging a little bit, due to not feeling great, which was exacerbated by absolutely miserable, rainy weather, but I sucked it up. After all, rain is just water. At some point, I imagine I’m going to have to contend with wet race weather, so there’s that.
I also got an extra burst of inspiration because I was finally matched with my running buddy through I Run 4! It was such a huge moment and I have already connected with my buddy’s mom and we have a great dialogue going. I’m so proud to dedicate my miles to him and his family, and I am so glad that I will be able to run my first big race in honor of them.
- Sunday: rest
- Monday: This was a great day. I ran 3.14 miles in the morning, and then did a 6.68 mile power walk in the evening. So awesome.
- Tuesday: light weights
- Wednesday: 4.11 miles
- Thursday: rest
- Friday: rest (I wasn’t feeling well at all)
- Saturday: 4.33 miles (this was supposed to be a 6 mile run, but I had a hard time getting up and then it was monsooning. I was able to squeeze in these miles between rain storms)
From Monday through Friday, I plan to run three days. I’ll just take it nice and easy, and build in one 6 mile run, just to get it in. And then it’s off to Orlando for the moment of truth.
Now that the big day is almost here, my brain is starting to wrap around the Post Race. I really just haven’t thought about anything besides this upcoming weekend, and now I am comfortable relaxing enough to realize that there are awesome things on the horizon. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Field trips and road trips. New babies (not ours, but for dear friends of ours) and spending time with loved ones. Half marathons and more races and vacation.
The year is flying by, and we have a lot to accomplish, both with running and in our lives.
What are you looking forward to before the year ends?
How was your week in workouts?

Congrats on being matched with your buddy! I was so excited when I got the message in my inbox š It really does bring meaning to my miles.
Sounds like you are ready for the TOT! I’m so excited to see this journey come full circle for you. I always think about post-race even before the race happens. Maybe it’s time for you to conqure a half marathon?! You are more than halfway there!

I know! It is so great having someone special for whom to run!
I just have blocked off everything after this race. My attitude has been “I’ll think about it when ToT is over.” And now it’s all “OMG IT’S GOING TO BE OVER!!!!! I HAVE TO DO ALL THE THINGS!!!!”
Time for a half marathon, you say? Funny. I have one on December 1 (Space Coast) and one on January 18 (ZOOMA Florida). I have not even begun to wrap my mind around those yet. LOL!

Holy Moly, you just got me excited for the end of the year too! (Wow you’re right, I can’t believe it’s almost over, yikes!)
I hope you’re feeling better!

I’m fine. Just a few days of blahs, but I’m better. Thank you š

Yay! So glad to hear you got matched! =) Two of my friends got matched this week, as well. It’s fun to see. =)
I am SO impressed that you power walked over 6 miles! Now that I run, I hate to walk! LOL

It was a big week for matching!
I love walking. I think it’s my favorite thing. My body just responds well to it.

I can’t wait to hear all about your race this weekend š Congrats on getting your match, that is super exciting.
My week of workouts was…well, not there! I’m still nursing this hamstring, but I am attempting my first run back tomorrow. Crossing my fingers that it goes well.
I can’t seem to wrap my head around the fact that this year is almost over. I know that the next three months will fly by, I need to make sure that I slow down and enjoy this time of year! Is my favorite and I don’t want to miss a moment š

š I hope that hamstring is feeling better in no time.
I do love this time of year. Not so much fall (because we don’t really get fall), but all the holidays and awesomeness that goes along with them.

What a fun idea on the running buddy!!! Good luck with your upcoming race!
You know this is going to sound weird, but I’m excited for fall too. But because I am stuck in a boot with an injury I’m just excited for it to be over, because by winter I should have my okay from the Dr’s to start running again… But on a side note, camping in the fall is my favorite so that is how I am spending most my time right now:)

Before I was a runner, I was a power walker. I’m really good at it. I had registered for the Wine & Dine half a few years ago and I fully intended to walk every inch of those 13.1 miles, but little man got sick and we ended up not being able to go.

I can’t wait to hear all about ToT Weekend!!! My week in workouts was ok; running was great but I didn’t get as much strength training in as I should have š I gotta focus on my girls’ birthday parties now because they’ll be here in a month!! And thankfully I’ve begun to make a dent in Christmas shopping!!

Oh, man! I have to get started on the Christmas list. I think it’s going to be a small one for Mr PugRunner and me – we are going to Atlantis. I would be thrilled with a gift card to Lululemon and a new iPhone, though š
Oooh! I love planning birthday parties! I’m excited to plan Halloween dinner.
And I am a much better writer than I am runner, so no matter what my performance is like during the race, I have high hopes for my recap š
