We were on vacation this week. We left on Friday for Walt Disney World to celebrate little man’s last day of Kindergarten, and then I continued on a several-day road trip visiting around with family and friends. I didn’t bring my running gear. I wasn’t super familiar with the areas in which we were staying, and Mr PugRunner wasn’t with us, so I didn’t want little man to be a burden to our gracious hosts if he woke up before I got back.
Instead of training, we were doing things like this
and this
In all fairness, trekking around a huge theme park in mid-90s heat (and accompanying humidity) is a pretty respectable workout in and of itself, so I’m not feeling super guilty.
Sunday – spent the day traveling from a hotel to lunch with one friend and her family to another friend and her family’s house.
Monday – tube surfing at the beach.
Tuesday – local splash park
Wednesday – local splash park again and back in the car
Thursday – sucked it up and set the alarm to be up for a 3.49 mile run.
Oh, and then we snuggled my parents’ new kittens.
Friday – despite reallyreallyreally wanting to sleep, set the alarm again for speed work. Six 400m repeats with a .5 mile warm up and a .5 mile cool down.
Saturday – heading out for a costumed 1 mile fun run. I am debating getting up early to squeeze in a pre-run, but I might just hold off until Sunday. I’m tired. But I am excited about our costumes.
I really missed yoga this week and I’m disappointed that I wasn’t able to fit in at least one class. This week should be interesting as we try to figure out our new summer normal with little man home from school.
How was your week?
How has your summer been treating you?

I am melting over those kittens. I was never really around kittens that young and I didn’t know how freaking adorable they could be.

He was having a blast! Mama was a little concerned. We’ve had some incidences of sharks close to shore in our area (of the great white variety), and even though we were a few hours away, it made me nervous.
