*This is a sponsored post. I have partnered with Girls on the Run of Northeast Florida to promote the Sweet By Holly Cupcake Run 5K and 1 Mile Cake Walk. I have received compensation in the form of race registration for my own personal use. All opinions are my own.*
We have all been waiting for this news: the Cupcake Run and Cake Walk, benefitting Girls on the Run of NE Florida, is VIRTUAL in 2020.
In a time when just about every race has moved to a virtual option, this is not a surprise. While this changes a few things, at the end of the day, we are coming together to support Girls On The Run of Northeast Florida, an amazing organization who needs us now, more than ever.
I Registered For The Race. Now What Do I Do?
Honestly, the only thing that has changed is you will now run your distance on your own instead of at the venue. Complete your 3.1 miles on Saturday, September 19 in your most festive cupcake-themed gear and be part of the sweetest race around.
Post your finisher photo to the Girls on the Run of Northeast Florida Facebook page for a chance to win a dozen cupcakes from Sweet By Holly!
Can I Still Register?
Yes! You absolutely can! Registration will continue for the 5K only, until September 13 or until all medals are spoken for. This is a great way to give yourself motivation to keep training and support a wonderful cause. And who wouldn’t want this gorgeous bling?
How Do I Get My Swag?
The Cupcake Run always promises amazing swag and amenities, and you won’t miss out, even if the race isn’t happening in person. If you live within 50 miles of the St. Johns Town Center, you’ll be able to pick up your packet in person at Sweet By Holly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, September 15, 16, and 17 from 10:00AM – 2:00PM and 5:00PM – 8:00PM.
This is also a great time to grab your free cupcake and use your voucher for two more cupcakes and frozen yogurt. We’ll call it carb-loading.
If you are outside the local area, your packet will be mailed to you prior to race day.
Support Girls On The Run of Northeast Florida
Girls On The Run of Northeast Florida is an incredible program. It is designed to inspire girls and young woman, through the sport of running, to recognize their inner strength and embrace their uniqueness. It fosters confidence, teaches life skills, and supports a love of health and fitness. This initiative helps girls recognize their power and strength so they can grow in confidence and change the world.
We need as much of that positivity as we can get these days. Will you help?
Will you be joining us for the virtual Cupcake Run 5K?

Another virtual race! Seems like the all are these days right? But this sounds like its for a good cause! I’ve always wanted to get involved in Girls on the Run but the timing has never been right with my work schedule.

It is such a great cause. I’m not able to coach (it also hasn’t worked out), but I do try to support the organization however I can!

As you know I am a huge supporter of GOTR for years. I am really going to miss my fall group this year. I will plan to participate in the virtual 5K in November as well. Sure hope to run it in person in the spring. Way to support your local chapter!

I do know! It’s such a great organization and I am happy to be able to support it however I can. I hope the programming can withstand the virtual nature of the school year, but we will just have to see.

I would run for cupcakes! That’s a great medal too — and a great cause.

It’s a gorgeous medal. I’m so excited to earn it!

Wait – THREE cupcakes and a frozen yoghurt?!
Yes, I would totally run those 5Ks! And that medal would get a special place.
Looks like your plans are made for 19 September, Jenn! Enjoy!

Such a “sweet” medal & a good cause!

I definitely support GOTR and have been involved at one time.
Love the medal too.
But no more virtuals for me. Sorry!

I love the cupcake medal. So cute! And a great way to support GOTR.
My final race of the year just switched to virtual. I haven’t done any virtual races but I guess I’ll my All Day 20k (though running 5ks in a row all by myself doesn’t really thrill me).
