5 april runfessions over coffee

April 30, 2021      30 Comments

Time to say goodbye to another month! Time is speeding by, but there’s always time for some runfessions, especially when it’s over virtual coffee!

Today we are linking up with ….

Marcia’s Healthy Slice for April’s Runfessions.

And the Ultimate Coffee Date with  Coco and Deborah !

Over Coffee I Would Runfess…

That I am the mom of a teenager! What? How did that happen?? Ok, to be honest, it’s not hitting me quite as hard as I thought it might. After all, he’s getting older, but I’m not. Isn’t that how it works? It was a lovely week and day. We got to have some small celebrations and that just made it so nice.

Over Coffee I Would Runfess…

That I cheated on my regular iced coffee order from Starbucks. I wanted something lighter, and so I tried the Dragonfruit Refresher. I’m not much of a juice drinker, but this was really delicious, and definitely an option going forward. Also, I love the color. How can you not?

Over Coffee, I Would Runfess…

That I am so ready for school to be over!!!! A has completed three of his six classes and he is dragging it out. He literally has final exams in the remaining three, and while he has three weeks to complete them, why is he not doing it now???? The second he is finished, we can get in summer mode and I am so ready for it. He’s the one that has to manage the workload, of course, but procrastination aggravates me. Ugh.

Over Coffee, I Would Runfess…

That I am really love my Studio Sweat OnDemand Workouts. It’s great to have some strength back in my life, and I am so grateful to have a program that fits into my schedule that’s giving me results.

Over Coffee, I Would Runfess…

That business is picking back up. I’m glad to see it, and even though I’m slammed, it’s motivating me to do more and better. I don’t know about you, but the more I have, the more productive I feel. It’s also boosting my mental state. I’m doing my hair, nails, and makeup more. I’ve also stopped relying on athleisure for my daily wardrobe. Don’t get me wrong. Yoga pants are great, but I’m also making an effort to put on real clothes as well. It’s not the worst.

What would you runfess over coffee?

What is your business?? I’m glad it’s picking up! I’m not ready to wear regular clothes, ha! I just love my athleisure so much, it will be hard to go back to business attire this fall.

    Happy birthday to your son!

Happy Birthday to A! I feel like we JUST did that pic with the balloons for thing 2, alas she’ll turn sweet 16 this summer. Nooo! Seriously how do they grow so fast and we don’t age at all??! Haha! I just had an unsweetened green tea/lemonade combo at Starbucks that was great as well. Gotta branch out sometimes!

I’m glad I tried something new. It is good to get out of the comfort zone.

Yep, my kids are adults but I’m still a teenager — or at least in my 20s. 😉 I am not with you on the wardrobe. I am hoping to stay home through summer so I can wear Oofos instead of dress shoes for a while longer.

P.S. We pushed the coffee date to next weekend so we wouldn’t have ALL the link-ups on the same day. I hope you’ll join us again.

Glad your business is picking up! And Happy Birthday to your son!

I’ve been using presence.fit app for strength workouts and have returned to weekly in person training now that I’m fully vaccinated. I’m pretty sore but I know it will help!

Happy birthday to A! Glad I only have a husband to motivate.

I’m usually more productive when I’m busy, but this week I’ve been unmotivated.

App options have really been the MVP of this pandemic for fitness people!

Well, my oldest turns 27 this summer, her brother will be 24, and the other daughter is 21 LOL Crazy how I always thought my mom was so “old” when I was that age, but I feel 20 years younger. My kids may have a different idea, though. Happy Bday to your guy 😉

Business is picking back up for us too! Believe it or not, it has been a very slow year in pediatrics. Most of our visits are for illness and there hasn’t been a whole lot of that (other than COVID, which we aren’t seeing in my office). It’s nice to feel useful again!

Glad your business is picking up! i’m a massage therapist, and when we opened back up almost a year ago, we were slammed with clients coming in, and have been pretty busy the whole year. I’m happy for it but at the same time it’s like… do people know there’s a pandemic??? Anyway, because that’s my job I wear yoga pants and running shoes to work every day. I don’t think my feet would fit into regular shoes anymore. Or my body into regular pants, for that matter.

Congratulations on being a mom to a teenager. They grow up so fast – how does that happen??

When I was teaching and had to get dressed up every day, I thought it would be great to be able to wear athleisure all the time. Now, I do kind of miss having an excuse to get dressed up. I probably have worn earrings less than 10 times in the past year+. I can’t figure out a comfortable way to wear them with a mask! Glad to hear your business is picking up!

I have a pair of screw back diamond studs that i have worn for maybe 14 years. Occasionally, I switch to something fun, but otherwise, I just leave these in. It’s easier.

Happy Monday! I don’t know about you all, but y Happy Monday!

I don’t know about you all, but your girl is TIRED. It is so hard to roll out of bed some mornings. Ugh.

I managed (finally) and banked six miles in some gross humidity. And now it’s time for some self care and then back to work.

Also. We have somehow acquired a pecan tree? Any tips on the growth and care of this would be greatly appreciated!

Sunday fun day! Just a short walk to start the da Sunday fun day!

Just a short walk to start the day and work out some stiffness. Some days, my ankle just doesn’t want to cooperate 🫤

I have been making graphics and content all day for a client, and now I’m about to do hair and makeup for a little event. Wheee!

This week is going to be BUSY! There’s a lot of changes to the regular routines (nails, a digital learning day, after school and weekend programming) and I have a race on Saturday and bocce ball on Sunday!

Who else is ready to dive in?!

Is it possible to be overwhelmed by so much amazing talent, creativity and awesome woman power?

From the iconic “my phone eats first” tote to the gorgeous party wall lined with craft mimosas, to the silent disco headphones and all the vendors and food/drink samples! Swoon.

I shopped, ate, drank and chatted my way around the venue, and enjoyed every second of it. What a way to celebrate Women’s History Month, and all of the incredible female entrepreneurs, business owners and bosses in Jax and NE Florida!

Five stars. Would do again in a heartbeat!

Did you get your fitness inside or out today? How do you feel about the elliptical?

Let’s talk about balance. Balance is an area wh Let’s talk about balance.

Balance is an area where I sometimes struggle, physically and emotionally. It can be a challenge to fit in all the things I want and all the things I need. I don’t always love doing the mundane or tedious tasks that ultimately lead to the foundations of the things I am more passionate about.

I am taking a little more time to build on the basics, and find my balance. It’s going to lead to a healthier and happier me.

How do you find your balance? Do you struggle with the basics?

Sometimes, the weather is too beautiful not to run Sometimes, the weather is too beautiful not to run.

I worked through some cardio under the blue skies and in the fresh air and then came home to @runsmartofficial’s base building boot camp.

There was A LOT of focus on balance and feet and ankles, as well as ground work in the form of different planks and push-ups.

The movements were small but effective and my legs are certainly burning! It’s going to get harder as we go, but I’m excited to spend more time on my stability and form, to see if it makes me stronger and more efficient over time.

What was on your workout calendar today?
