Well, things continue to get even more intense. As we headed into summer vacation, we had an EF-0 tornado touch down not too far from us! And of course, hurricane season opens on Sunday. What a way to start summer vacation!

Sunday
- Cardio: 5.39 miles, walking
I was up early and caught the most glorious sunrise.

It felt amazing to get out there and just soak in all that beauty. Sometimes that helps get me through the busier times. I put my head down to get through my day, and even had a last minute change to my schedule, which meant I got to go home a day earlier.
Monday
- Cardio: 6.40 miles, running
Normally, on Memorial Day, I run a 5K in honor of the fallen. That was not the case this year, but I still got out there.

I was pretty tied up with clients, but Mr. PugRunner used his day to grill some burgers, and make a delicious watermelon/blueberry/pistachio/feta/mint salad. After a few days of living on sandwiches and quick things on the go, it was heaven.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 5.94 miles, running
With early clients, I got in a good routine of running a little before and a little after my drop ins and walks. It’s definitely been an exhausting week, but it all went fairly smoothly, and that’s all I can ask for.

The heat, on the other hand, was too much. The temps were in the high 70s, even before sunrise, and many days we saw mid 90s. I’m not into it at all. Storms rolled in that night, and while they were intense, we did get a gorgeous rainbow at sunset.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 4.24 miles, walking + running
My schedule has me absolutely burning the candle at all ends. It’s been so many early mornings and late nights. It also means I’m cobbling runs together where I can… a few miles before jobs, and a few after… however I can make it happen.

Weather deteriorated throughout the day, and that evening, a tornado touched down not too far from us! Yikes! There wasn’t any damage, but I don’t like to see twisters ever.
Fortunately we all got home safe from our various outings, but we definitely were on high alert.
Thursday
- Cardio: 6.68 miles, running
Up and at ’em all over again.

The heat and rain continue to be draining and miserable. I’m a little nervous about what our upcoming hurricane season has in store for us.
Friday
- Cardio: 6.14 miles, running
I woke up with the same nasty headache, but I hoped getting some fresh air would kick it (spoiler alert: it did not). My two part run went down nicely, regardless.

And it was also a very big day: A’s last day of 11th grade. It’s officially official.

Saturday
- Cardio: 5.3 miles, walking
And just like that, my big week of clients has come to an end! I finished my miles, and took it immediately to the couch. I’ve got the nastiest headache from the shifting pressure and it’s really cramping my mood. I tried so hard to smile in this picture, but you can see I’m not having a great time.

I worked, and then Mr. PugRunner and I had a nice little date night. We are both going into another busy week and it’s important to carve out time for connection.
Thoughts + Goals
And here we are… summer vacation! It’s going to be an interesting year. A wants to focus a lot on working, band, and some online classes. Mr PugRunner has some conferences. I am deep in with my pet sitting. It’s a time. We do, fortunately, have a trip planned and I am very much looking forward to (and desperately need) that.
A few fun things… I was featured as a Jogology Ambassador this week! I love Jogology socks so much and it was really fun to share a little bit about my goals!

Also… June 1 marks the start of the 12th Annual #StreakingWithTheCoolKids Challenge! For me, it also marks 567 days of running/walking/jogging one deliberate mile a day, a trend I hope to continue! Are you joining in for the month of June? It’s fun!

I’ve been a little slow on comments, and I haven’t updated my reading list and reviews, but I’m still here and still trying to make things happen!

Weekly Rundown
I am linking up with the Weekly Rundown, with Confessions of A Mother Runner and Running on the Fly! Check them out!

It sounds like that job is keeping you busy! I hope you’re enjoying it. I’m sure it’s like babysitting–some dogs are better than others. Kinda like kids, lol.
We’ve had a few storms this spring, and they’ve been surprisingly severe! A few tornadoes have hit in Wisconsin. It seems that the weather is becoming increasingly extreme. I hope the hurricane season isn’t too bad this year. One of the names this year is Wendy–I hope they don’t get to it!
Wild weather! Wow!
I’m glad you are enjoying being a rover! I’d trust you with Ruth any day!
Lovely photos as always. Congrats on the Jogology ambassadorship!
Wow, wild weather!! Nice job keeping up with your streak. Do you have a goal in mind for what you’d like to get to?
Congrats to A on completing his junior year! Let the good times begin!
It’s been a stormy week here, but we juggled our outdoor rides around the weather. We were under a tornado watch on Thursday evening – somewhat unusual for us.
Sounds like your new job is going well. That’s what you want. I know it is challenge to work and stay fit. You are doing a great job.
I wouldn’t say I’m sensitive to the weather, except that I can’t stand the heat anymore. Good thing we have five unrelenting months of it ahead of us (insert angry emoji.) I think i heard it’s not supposed to be an active hurricane season- for whatever that’s worth. All it takes is one!
Anyway- nice job keeping up your fitness. What you’re doing is more tricky than if you had a 9-5 job. It’s unpredictable with late nights and early mornings, so it’s extra hard to keep to a workout schedule. But you’re doing it!
Congrats to A. I can’t believe he’s now a senior.
Sounds like quite a week! We’ve had a few storms and power outages – ugh! – but no tornados – phew!
Congrats to being the Mom of a senior!!
We actually had a tornado watch this weekend but we rarely get anything more than big storms around here. Sounds like you pet biz is really taking off! Hope you got some rest this weekend
That’s some beautiful sunrises!
You sound so busy with the pet sitting, I always think that’s the perfect job for you! Enjoy the June streak! I’ve joined some Garmin walking challenges this month and hope for the best with the weather.
Scary weather! Knock wood, we haven’t had anything extreme yet (other than relentless wind). There’s some funky stuff happening tonight, and the Northern Lights are supposed to be spectacular with all the “gunk” in the atmosphere…I’m actually looking forward to it!
I love your picture for Jogology Ambassador! You have quite an impressive streak going. I have committed to doing a daily cardio workout of some sort (run, bike, walk) which will be logged in Strava but I don’t know how long my streak is. Seems like it should be listed in there somewhere!
Wow, an official senior now. Very exciting year ahead!!
