I, for one, am not enjoying the warm and humid days we’ve been having lately. Spring is right around the corner (or first summer, if you live in Florida), but we might get one or two more arctic blasts! I feel like it’s going to be a hot year, so it will be nice to enjoy a little reprieve.

Sunday
- Cardio: 4.22 miles, walking
Goooood morning! It was time to move home! Of course, I got in tons of walking (with the doodle and on my own). And then I packed my bags, said goodbye and headed out!

I did have a small detour: a book bedazzling event with one of my book clubs. We met at the most lovely Italian cafe (I was starving so I opted for a panini instead of a sweet treat), and we crafted our little hearts out. Everyone had such different visions, but all the books came out beautifully.

I made it home right before a huge storm hit and Mr PugRunner and I celebrated a late Valentine’s Day.
Monday
- Cardio: 6.14 miles, running + .66 miles, walking
Mondays are for nice, long-ish runs.

A had the day off from school and we didn’t have much going on, so Mr. PugRunner and I decided to check out a Rage Room for a date activity. Your group can reserve a room for 30 minutes. You get suited up in protective gear, select a few bludgeoning type weapons, and go to town smashing things like glasses, mugs, keyboards, and more. We upgraded to add in some nightstands and a TV, too. It was hilarious and fun and I wish it was closer so we could do it more often!

Tuesday
- Cardio: 6.06 miles, running + 1.18 miles, walking
Busy day, back to the grind! Of course, it started with a run.

From there it was time for a little self-care with a hair appointment! It’s been a while since I’ve had a color and cut, but it was amazing and I felt great.

And I’m proud to announce that the Christmas tree is down and all of the winter holidays are packed away. It took a minute, but we got there.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 5.53 miles, walking + line dancing, 60 minutes
Hear me out! I had to go back to the gym, so after my walk, I did exactly that! Except I signed up for an intermediate line dancing class! And I loved it! Seriously! We have a new country bar in town, and I’d love to go, so it’s nice to get the lowdown on some moves!

I had some dog walks during the day, too! One turned into a yard play session: when I pulled up, a stray dog was wandering the street. She growled and was prettty drooly when I got out of the car, so I asked my client if we could just play outside instead. I had zero interest in being in the middle of a dog fight. She was cool about it, and the other dog disappeared into someone’s house. I hate when puppy friendship is denied.
Thursday
- Cardio: 6.02 miles, running + .58 miles, walking
Beautiful sunrises are always such a gift.

It was nice to have a little bit of a quiet day. It doesn’t happen very often.
Friday
- Cardio: 5.42 miles, walking
Since I had a five mile race on Saturday morning, I opted for just a speed walk today.

It was my intention to go to the gym, but A called me to ask if I could bring his clarinet to school, and Mr PugRunner wanted to go out to lunch, so the day got away from me. It happens.
I spent the afternoon packing for the week ahead and prepping for tomorrow’s race.
Saturday
- Cardio: Ortega River Run 5 Mile + 3 miles, walking
Race day! My morning started at 4:30AM: I had a dog walk and parking for the Ortega River Run 5 Miler is notoriously terrible. I’ll share the full report on Wednesday, but it was a good experience, despite being hideously hot. I’m not ready!

I took some photos afterwards, and then worked my way to two clients and moving into another house for another sit. Am I exhausted? Yes! And ready for an early night!
Thoughts + Goals
Can you believe it’s almost March? Things are going well, but time is moving quickly. It’s going to be another busy, wild month, but I’m excited for it, and all that’s to come.
I am excited to return to line dancing (it won’t be this week, but I can start again after that.). And of course, while I’m there, I can maybe lift something. That’s the goal.
My next race is in two weeks, and then I’ll have another at the end of the month, as well. It feels great to be on track for 12 races this year, and I need to figure out how to add in one more state in 2026!
