Would you believe that it finally came: that chill in the air???!!! And I could not be happier! That fall feeling puts a bit of a spring in my step and makes everything so much easier. Plus, I can be in cozy clothes without sweating my booty off! It’s a good week!

Sunday
- Cardio: 3.6 miles, walking
We got home just a little before midnight and we all took advantage of a lie-in. I was just tired in my bones. The weather was cool enough that I could take the pugs for a walk, but that was the extent of my motivation for the day.

It was my biggest goal to sit on the couch and eat snacks, and that’s exactly what I did.
Monday
- Cardio: 7.13 miles, running
Nothing feels more motivating than getting out early in the morning on a cool day. I absolutely ate it up and never wanted to stop.

I also had a day to myself. Mr PugRunner took H back to school, with A riding along, and then he dropped A off at a birthday dinner for a friend. In the meantime, I cleaned and got some meal prep done for the week: more taquitos and breakfast sausage muffins. There was also a cinnamon roll incident but we don’t have to talk about that.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 6.77 miles, running + .47 miles, walking
Back to school and back to routine. The morning started with another lovely run.

And then I had a dog walk. It’s pretty interesting how quickly the days warm up. Unfortunately, by the time my client was scheduled, it was way too hot for a long or intense workout. Boo.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 6.25 miles, walking
Yay for walk days! They are really a nice break in the middle of the week.

I spent a ton of time trying to get up to date with all my work and obligations, and I was fairly successful at it. Since I am a person who feeds on positive reinforcement, this is all fodder to keep it up.
Thursday
- Cardio: 6.15 miles, running (speedwork)
I can’t believe the week is almost over. On Thursdays, I try to do some speed intervals, and the cooler weather absolutely made the experience more pleasant.

I also got to walk with my regular client and she was loving the weather. Less pleasant was round two of estate planning. Today we delved into all the awful details. Yuck.
We made up for it with a date night at a friend’s tiki bar. This year, they created a Halloween speakeasy, and we had so much fun.

Friday
- Cardio: 6.31 miles, running + 1.5 miles, walking
Usually, I go out with J on Friday mornings, but she had an appointment so I was on my own.

I got some company with another puppy friend, who loves his long midday walks! And then we hung out for the rest of the day, prepping for another band weekend!
Saturday
- Cardio: 4 miles, walking
I got in a quick walk before we loaded up to head to Orlando for the BOA competition. This year, we drew a later position so it wasn’t a super early morning.

We were super lucky to meet up with Meghan for dinner near the stadium, and we also got in some cute Halloween vibes.
Thoughts + Goals
The week itself was not super busy, but the band weekends are pretty exhausting. We have this Orlando competition, the MPA performance at a local school, an exhibition about an hour away, and then Indianapolis.
And then that puts us through Halloween and firmly into the end of year holidays. I’m mostly excited about that, although it means another year will be drawing to a close. How did that happen?
Due to senior night on Halloween and a few other things, we didn’t get to have quite so many spooky activities, but we will see if I can make up for it this fall and winter. It would be nice to host a brunch or dip party, and I think we finally have the time to work it in.
I’m glad to be racing again. Yes, it makes for early mornings, but it feels good to get out there and work towards a goal. We will do the Spiked Apple 5K again (they have a new medal that is super cute, and I want to see my horse friend again), and I hope to do a Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas event. Fingers crossed.

Weekly Rundown
I am linking up with the Weekly Rundown, with Confessions of A Mother Runner and Running on the Fly! Check them out!

Sounds like a busy week! A Halloween speakeasy sounds interesting! I’m glad you’re having cooler weather, especially with all the band competitions. Good luck with all of your activities!
It’s still hot for the kids. We had several fall out after the comp this weekend. The cool mornings and evenings make you forget to hydrate, and then you get out there in 80 degrees and full sun and it’s all over.
Estate planning is not fun but you really have to do it. I am also loving the cooler weather and getting to wear cozy clothes is so nice. Halloween speakeasy sounds fun!
It’s the absolute worst and I hate every second of it.
Fall is definitely a busy time for high school events, especially when you are such a great supporter.
I can’t believe how quickly 2025 is coming to an end. I know the next few months will fly by.
It’s crazy! How did it even happen?
What a busy week! We have a lot going on too here this time of year, but my kids are stil little so it’s different types of activiites. the Halloween speakeasy sounds pretty cool!
We had such a good time! And I love all the little kid activities! They are so fun!
Cool weather!!! We got a LITTLE bit of a cooldown here- not as much as you, but we can feel that the humidity is lower, which makes a big difference. Anyway- beautiful weather is coming! It won’t be too long now.
I like your race plans, and I want to hear more about this “cinnamon roll incident”, lol.
It’s glorious right now!
And it’s all so dramatic! I wanted cinnamon rolls. Pulled up the Pioneer Woman recipe because I used to make them, and it’s the best recipe. Apparently, I black out and completely forget many critical things. Also, the recipe is poorly written. And I think I knew that, too. I get the dough mixed up, start reading ahead and see where each batch makes 50 rolls. I don’t want 50 rolls! And then the dough wasn’t rising right, and I didn’t have the right pans, and anyway, I cried a little. Some came out more like cookies, and some came out fine, and I’m so embarrassed about the whole thing.
Yay for a few cooler days! It’s got to feel great after such a hot summer.
I’m with Jenny, please tell us more about your “cinnamon roll incident.” 🙂

Nice week, with lots of running and walking logged! The Halloween speakeasy really sounds intriguing…is it more decor-based, or are some patrons in costumes?
So the speakeasy has immersive decor, the staff has Halloween themed tiki shirts, and there is a special menu with spooky cocktails that come in Halloween glasses. The hula dancers were also wearing orange and black. So cute.
I think our Spike Apple was one and done.
Enjoy your last year of A’s activities.
I’m excited to go trick or treating with my granddaughter.
I don’t run in my ‘hood but there are quite a few interesting decorated houses.
People have gone huge with their spooky decor and I adore it!
The nice thing about our Spiked Apple is that it’s on a farm I love, but that’s super far away. We can do the race, and then slide into their fancy restaurant for brunch. I’m down for that.
