Two months of 2026, done and dusted. I wish I could say that this year was back to “normal” but the truth is, it feels like more of 2025. What can you do? Let’s dive into our Runfessions!

For this month’s trip to the runfessional, let’s join up with Marcia’s Healthy Slice…
Let’s Start By Runfessing…
That I almost threw up (with relief) when I got the news that my “stupid ear thing” was, in fact, just that. After two biopsies, and plenty of waiting, I am glad to put the whole matter to bed. The final verdict was that I just had some kind of scar tissue: no wart, no virus, and no c-word. Boom. Done. The stitches removal was a little uncomfortable, but I skipped out of that office without a backwards glance.

Next, I’ll Runfess…
That I don’t really get upset over “celebrity” passings, but the loss of Jeff Galloway was a sad one. Jeff was an absolute gift to the running world. Through his run-walk-run method, he helped make running so accessible to so many more people. He helped so many people believe in themselves enough to get across finish lines. He was truly a gift, and this is a blow to the running world.

My Next Runfession Is…
I’ve been handing the whole senior mom thing pretty well. In fact, I think I’ve been exemplary in my excitement and enthusiasm. However. We attended A’s pre-MPA concert on Tuesday, and it was like a punch to the stomach. While I know he will continue playing, the idea that we won’t be seeing him on the field or stage on a regular basis is going to be HARD. Side note: he had his percussion debut with the symphonic band as they were short players, and played a ton of solos for the wind ensemble. I will never get tired of hearing him play.

I Runfess…
That my motivation has been in the toilet, lately. I think I’m a little burned out, and am so excited about finally going home on Saturday. I’ve been living out of a suitcase for 90% of the month, and while there are perks, I’m ready to establish myself back at home.

Finally, I Would Runfess…
That I broke down and snagged another new pair of shoes. I love Brooks, but the colors of the Adrenaline GTS have been lacking lately. They just introduced a pair of navy blue with pops of hot pink, and I snapped them up so fast. My pale pink and cream ones are pretty, but they get dirty quickly, and I wanted something more durable.
