Even though we can pretty much run in Florida year round, our area is really ramping up the races. From Disney weekends, to the famous Gate River Run, runners have their choice of events every weekend. It’s a good time to be a runner in Northeast Florida. Let’s see how it worked out for me.

Sunday
- Cardio: 3.21 miles, walking
After being away for so long, I was thrilled to be home. I slept in, went for a walk, and then took directly to the couch. There were really no other options.

Monday
- Cardio: 7.08 miles, running
- Strength: full body workout with rower cardio bursts, 50 minutes
I am all about a strong Monday start, and this one went really well. I was very happy to enjoy a great run, and I even found time to get myself in the gym. I hated it, but also loved it. And can you believe the fog? We had so much of it this week and it’s so beautiful.

Tuesday
- Cardio: 6.45 miles, running
The fog continues. It was also another great run. It’s encouraging.

The rest of the day was pretty busy. A met with a new doctor, and we started the process of having the house pressure washed and painted. It’s been a minute since the last time we had it done, and the time was right.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 5.16 miles, walking
- Strength: full body workout with cardio bursts on the elliptical, 50 minutes
I was very glad that walks with J were able to resume. And even though I didn’t WANT to go to the gym, I was glad that I did. My neighbor was out walking and got this shot of me being followed by some of the neighborhood ducks.

It’s also worth noting that we had a little scare with the pugs. They got out of the gate at the end of the day and went on a bit of an adventure. Leonidas decided to go for a prance in the lake (no bueno) and ended up having a bath for his trouble. Thank goodness they are home and safe.

Thursday
- Cardio: 5.68 miles, walking
Friday
- Cardio: 4.73 miles, walking
My whirlwind weekend was about to begin.
I started the morning walking with J.

Then it was home to shower and pack, before I hit the road for a client dog walk and then off to Orlando to see Meghan! I was super lucky with traffic and rolled in around 3PM. We had just enough time to catch up, eat dinner, and hang by the pool with some wine. I was pretty lazy and didn’t set up a flat runer or anything for tomorrow’s race.
Saturday
- Cardio: Best Damn Race Orlando 10K + 5K Challenge + .44 miles, walking
We were up and out bright and early for BDR Orlando. It was brutally hot, which was disappointing, and I’ll share more about it this week. All that aside, we had a wonderful time.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. As soon as we were done, I had to hit the road. I had two clients in the afternoon, and then it was home for a shower and relaxation.
Thoughts + Goals
March started strong, and I’m glad of it. I’m reading a ton, getting in those strength sessions, and taking care of myself as best I can.
Painting the house led me to order new lights for the garage and porch, and we actually had the painters check out the kitchen to get a quote on some renovations. Fingers crossed.
