Literally! We started off with moving back home after my last overnight for the month, and then diving into a pretty exciting week. As mentioned in my runfessions, we are going through a lot of transitions and I’m doing my best to keep up! Let’s see how it all worked out!

Sunday
- Cardio: 4.06 miles, walking
I had my last chance to walk in one of my favorite neighborhoods for a while, so I took it with a smile on my face. It’s always great to explore other sidewalks and little pathways. For some reason, I feel like I’m getting to take part in a little adventure.

Monday
- Cardio: 4.68 miles, running
While it wasn’t as long of a run as I’ve been doing, Monday was a very solid run, thanks in part to the gorgeous weather. I was into it.

I was also very excited to head home in the late afternoon. Sometimes, you just miss your own bed.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 7.08 miles, running + .87 miles, walking
The week continued, and I felt great about this morning’s run. Again, it was chilly with a lovely breeze, just the way I like it.

Wednesday
- Cardio: 3.08 miles, walking
Up so very early to take Mr PugRunner to the airport. My plan was to get in a nice walk in one of the Jacksonville neighborhoods, but it started raining. Instead, I had to make do with miles closer to home. It wasn’t quite the same.

I thought I would have a little downtime, but a regular client reached out because she hurt her back, and her sweet old pup needed his walks. I couldn’t say no. He’s really such a doll baby.
In the evening, A and I went to the friends and family event for the opening of his new job, followed by dinner. I really appreciate getting to hang out with him like this.
Thursday
- Cardio: 4.86 miles, running + .65 miles, walking
Will I ever feel motivated again? A little speed work, and some dog walks. I would have loved a nap but it wasn’t in the cards.

My parents stopped by in the afternoon on their way home from an outing. it was nice to see them.
Friday
- Cardio: 4.01 miles, walking
A super late night led to terrible sleep, led to just not wanting to get up in the morning. I’m struggling with that this week, and it’s becoming incredibly annoying.

Anyway. I did what I could do, and then I finished decorating my cake. It’s been a while, but I think it turned out out.

Saturday
- Cardio: 3 miles, walking
So this could basically be considered a rest day. Really. I was exhausted and just couldn’t drag myself out of bed. I did what little fitness walk I could squeeze in, walked my sweet client, and then got ready for fun.

I had tickets for A Slice Of Duval, a community cake party. Guests purchase tickets and bring an 8″ cake to the event (purchased or home made). Everyone sets their cakes out on tables, admires the scene, and then, at the appointed time, groups are released for the “cake sprint:” a five minute period to grabs as many slices of cake as possible! I upgraded to a VIP ticket to be in the first group, and it was well worth it to be able to grab cake and then just relax.

Thoughts + Goals
So what was going to be a week of little house projects turned into a little more work and errands with some fun thrown in. I do still have plans to paint the kitchen and renovate the pantry, but that will be after Easter.
I do have a full week off (just a few dog walks) and I am so excited for the downtime. It’s reallllly needed at this point.
I will be running a 5K tomorrow, and then I have my eyes on a 10K at the end of April.
In personal news, we signed a lease for A’s housing next year. It’s getting real! Graduation is mid May! And my PTA/volunteer friend group has introduced a trip to the group chat. Can we make it happen? Stay tuned!
