Spring Break is one of the weeks we never really celebrate. While it would be nice to get away, it’s also nice to just chill at home, and try to catch up on things around the house. We all have some travel coming up, too, so it wasn’t too terrible to take a pass on vacation this particular week.

Sunday
- Cardio: 5.15 miles, walking
Another week is starting, and I filled my day with some walks for me and client walks. I can’t complain: the weather has been absolutely stunning, and I love fresh air.

Monday
- Cardio: 6.36 miles, running + 1.41 miles, walking
Everything was absolutely perfect this morning. I woke up, renewed and refreshed, and headed out before the sunrise. Conditions were flawless, and my run felt like flying. Until I smacked into the back of a landscaping trailer that was sticking out into the sidewalk.

Photos of the culprit after the sun came up. The good news is it was mostly just my left leg. I am still sporting a pretty ugly bruise, that goes from my knee all the way up, but other than that, it’s all good. It came out of nowhere!
Tuesday
- Cardio: 5.31 miles, running
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I do very much wish I was in Ireland. Will it ever happen? I hope so: I think it’s a place I would love to be more than anywhere.

The boys were out of town, so we didn’t do any proper celebrating. I wore green and hoped for great luck.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 4.06 miles, walking
I was really glad for a walk day. My leg was a little sore and I just needed a break. I found a really nice nature trail to log my miles, and was treated to a deer sighting! Yes, it was cold enough for leggings: we got into the 30s!

Thursday
- Cardio: 5.04 miles, running
Still cold. Still showing beautiful signs of spring. I managed a little bit of speed work, hit more trails, and enjoyed the flowers.

Friday
- Cardio: 4.4 miles, running
Friday promised to be busy: I had a new client who had never had a sitter before: he was so upset, and it was a bit of an adventure getting him comfortable. We managed with the help of one of his dog buddies and some patience and creative thinking. Whew.
It was a good thing my day started out in the fresh air.

Saturday
- Cardio: 4.88 miles, walking
After everything settled, we both got a good night’s sleep. Everyone woke up in a good mood, reset and ready to start the day.

I was also glad to get in my steps on this beautiful morning.
Thoughts + Goals
So what’s up this week? Well, it’s going to be a little quieter in some ways. However, I’ve got some super fun events on the calendar, and I’m excited for that.
Will I be back at line dancing? Fingers crossed! I also have the March To Get Screened 5K for colon cancer awareness next Sunday, and that will be great as always.

EEK! I can see how you would run right into that trailer in the dark. Glad you’re okay.
You got down to the 30s??? We did not get that cold weather down here, but we had some nice mornings in the upper 50s.
We also did not do anything for spring break, but I enjoyed the more relaxed vibe. I’m not looking forward to the early wakeups again next week!
Yessss! It came out of nowhere! Well, I”m sure there was a weather pattern that I ignored, but it was practically summer the day before, and I woke up freezing. Yikes!
Your mishap in the dark reminds me of a nasty bruise I earned almost exactly two years ago. We had a dumpster outside our house (prepping for the great move-out), and I was doing something on my phone and my left arm came in full-on contact with a beam (?) of some sort along the top edge. That baby set up homestead for a good two weeks and was every shade of purple before it finally disappeared.
Yikes! Someone mentioned to me about making sure my tetanus shots were up to date and I did get a little scratch from the impact… but it doesn’t seem like I have any infections, so yay.
It’s dangerous out there!
Ooh ouch on bumping into that trailer! Not fun at all. Glad it was nothing serious. Enjoy that fab weather you have!! That’s a win for sure
Not my best day!
Yikes on that trailer hit!! Glad it wasn’t anything too serious. That could have been bad. I can totally relate the your new client. I had to feed my neighbor’s dog and when I went into the house he just barked at me. And, I’m afraid of [barking] dogs, so that wasn’t a great situation! Eventually he did his business thankfully. I’d love to help out my neighbor more with dog duty but the dog definitely needs to get more familiar with me!
Here’s to hoping you get back to line dancing!
I bounced off that thing and it took my breath away. At least it wasn’t my face.
I’m not scared of barking but I am scared of being bitten. And actually smaller dogs scare me more than bigger ones. It was sooo out of character for this sweet guy, too. He was just terrified and defending his home. Fortunately, his owners were so awesome and we worked it out, and now he’s following me around and snuggling with me. Just in time for me to go home!
Ugh on running into the lawn service trailer. That bruise sounds painful.
When our sons were growing up we never did anything for spring break. It wasn’t until they’d both gotten married that it became an annual thing. And as you know, this year we did a staycation! Next year we’re looking at some sort of Airbnb that’s tied into a farm. Wish us luck in finding something!
Listen. I don’t know how farm you’re looking, but we have serveral “fluffy cow” glamping experiences within a few hours of us in North Florida and Georgia. It’s not a dude ranch, but there are tons of interactions with the farm life.
Oh dang about that trailer! So glad you didn’t hurt yourself more!
Line dancing is SO MUCH FUN. I did that for a while when I was young (am I really that old so I can say that kind of thing, lol) and absolutely loved it.
You definitely should try to get to Ireland! You would love the running weather here and there are plenty of dogs, cats and cows to talk to!
I love line dancing. I want to really commit a few dances to memory so I can bust them out in public but one things at a time.
Cows, dogs and cats? Say less! I’m there!
I got away…and we know how that ended! Can I have a do over?
Yeah, people who park across the sidewalk are special, aren’t they? I’m so sorry about that bruise. I hope it didn’t interrupt your run!
I know… and I’m so sorry.
It made such a loud bang I was terrified someone was going to come out of the house or post on the community Facebook page! I collected myself and kept on going until it was light enough to check myself out. I was a little sore for a few days, but I made it.
