beef barley stew

March 1, 2011      Leave a Comment

I know, I know. I've been making a lot of one-pot soup/stew type things. Well, it's freaking cold outside, and there's really nothing better than a hearty soup/stew to deal with the chill. You'll need some beef. I used lean ground beef (I'm cleaning out the freezer to make room for some good meat ...

beef & dumplings

This is just a little twist on an old favorite. I was craving chicked and dumplings, but I only had a pound of lean ground beef, so I just made some adjustments. Cook that meat up in a large pot. While it cooks, prep your veggies. I used 3 cloves of garlic, 1/2 large red onion, 3 stalks of ...

One of the comments I received is that people miss the full recipes I used to post (obviously with photographic accompaniment). I attribute the lack of that to sheer laziness on my part, and I resolve to get back with it. Starting tonight with... drumroll... Curry Pumpkin Soup. The funny ...

Here's an unexpected treat: How to use simple baked potatoes to get two fantastic potato treats: mashed potatoes and healthy potato skins! First, scrub and dry your potatoes. I bake them at 425, unwrapped, for 90 minutes. It makes the skin crispier. Give them a little while to cool, and ...

baked macaroni & cheese

March 1, 2011      Leave a Comment

You all are in for a treat! Today, I am sharing my baked macaroni and cheese recipe. This is the recipe I learned from my grandmother and mother, with a little twist, and it is fabulous. You'll need: 1/2-1lb pasta (I didn't have elbows, so I used mostaccioli rigate), 1/2 stick butter, flour ...

Every month this year, I’ve been committing to s Every month this year, I’ve been committing to some kind of wellness challenge.

January ➡️ planks
February ➡️ balance

Lately, I’ve had the urge to get back in a gym. Kickboxing is out for right now but I think I could take on boot camp or spin.

Then I felt a little guilty about spending the money when I have some weights and bands at home, our neighborhood has a gym, and I have a surgical procedure on the horizon (boo, wisdom teeth), so I thought I would work my way up to group classes by starting at home.

Day 1 done! ✅ with an assist from @sweetlunapug!

The @freskincare DETOX ME post-sweat mask is a great way to combat the sun and humidity. And the cold and wind. And central heat and air conditioning. And everything in between! With ingredients like Kaolin Clay to draw out impurities and absorb excess oil and Blue Azulene to reduce inflammation and soothe damaged and stressed skin, I know my skin can be both protected and restored post-run.

I apply the DETOX ME mask after my runs, and let the natural ingredients do their work to detox, exfoliate, and purify. I leave the shower feeling refreshed, glowing, and ready to face my next adventure!
