Happy Black Friday! And happy runfessions day!
For this month’s trip to the runfessional, let’s join up with Marcia’s Healthy Slice…
I runfess…
That I don’t go out on Black Friday. In fact, I can’t remember a time that I really ever did. I don’t love shopping in general, and I don’t love crowds. Put the two together, especially in today’s climate, and I’ll sit this one out.
I runfess…
That I fell asleep on the couch after dessert last night. I never ever just tucker out like that, so I must have needed the sleep. It was a bummer because I missed out on time with some friends, but I feel better this morning, so it’s all good.
I runfess…
That I am really nervous about my next running shoe purchase. The new Adrenalines are out in February, but the “first look” reviews are giving me pause. There will also be a huge price increase from $130 to $150. I don’t mind paying more for a shoe I love… I just hope I still love it, or that I can find anther shoe that fits as well as this.
I runfess…
That a few days this week, I thought about quitting running. I’m not sure what’s going on in my head, but I guess I’m just one of my funky cycles where I start getting down on myself. I got myself together, and considered all the amazing things running has brought me, including connections with these beautiful humans. I was clearly out of my mind.
I runfess…
That I will feel so much better after tomorrow’s craft fair. I can’t wait to share some of the cute things I will have for sale, and I hope it goes well!

NAY! Nothing is worth fighting the crowds. Even saving a few bucks.
Yup I considered going to bed at 7 pm last night but I rallied.
Most runners considered quitting at some point. But we know how running has made us better in many ways and the others we now know because of it. Don’t quit. The birthday twins have not met yet, lol
I too get nervous that when I find the perfect shoe, it will change or maybe a better one is out there. Feet are sooo important.

I’m so with you on the big no to Black Friday shopping!
I’m not at all pleased with the pending price hike on the Adrenalines. I’m really hoping they don’t tweak the design too much. It’s my fave running shoe, but there have been a couple of years where the design changes did not work for me.
I hope all goes well with your craft fair! I would love to see what you’re selling.

Looks like we need to stock up on this year’s adrenaline! $150? Wow! I love those shoes but that is a lot. My trail shoes are that much and I get that.
No black Friday shopping here either. i was at work….

It’s funny, online shopping is so frustrating to me lately that I almost would prefer to go shopping in-person, but definitely not today on Black Friday lol!
I hear you about the conflicted feelings about running…I’ve struggled with it a lot lately. But you are so right, the running community is incredible!!

Oh, I often crash on the sofa — I didn’t crash yesterday but I did sleep until 7:20 this morning. Yes, i was tired!
Sorry you were feeling bad about running. Glad our fun turkey trot collage cheered you up — loved your photo.
I used to go Black Friday shopping when my kids were young and my ILs would visit — it was something to do to get out of the house.

No BF shopping for me either. Honestly it seems like most places had their BF offers available in the weeks leading up to BF. Hope the craft fair goes well!

I’ve been an online Black Friday in recent years, but have done absolutely nothing this year.

It sounds like you’ve been struggling in general—it can be a tough time of year. I know you’ll be feeling better soon & good luck at the craft fair!
Sometimes running does seem really silly to me, but I’ve never really thought about quitting. Sometimes when you’ve lost your motivation simply cutting back on it helps.

I used to like BF shopping in person, but that was back when the craziness started like at 6:00 or 7:00. There were a few years even my sister (and daughters) did the early-early hours of BF, but do much of it’s online (and several days early), we’ve been taking a psss.

we all go through running slumps from time to time. I find a few days off doing something else can do the trick. Remember your why you do it. Hope your craft fair was fun!
