We celebrate Galentine’s Day on February 13, as a way to honor female friendships. The day was created by Leslie Knope, of Parks and Recreation fame, whose enthusiasm for girl power led to the annual commemoration.
“Oh it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”

Schedule A Workout With Friends
Obviously, the best way to star any holiday is with some fitness. Gather up one girlfriend or your entire sisterhood and go for a run or bike ride, hit the gym, or take a class. There’s no better way to set the tone for the rest of the day.
Get Yourself The Flowers
No matter your relationship status, sometimes you just have to get the flowers for yourself. While you don’t ever need a special occasion for them, Galentine’s is the perfect time to treat yourself.
Treat Your Friends
Galentine’s Day is a great time to show your friends how much you love and appreciate them. Make them a little goodie bag with mini bottles of champagne (I glittered mine), and a waffle-themed treat (Honey Stinger Waffles are a great option) with a little Galentine’s themed note!
Eat Waffles! And Frittatas!
You cannot have Galentine’s Day without waffles! And frittatas! I very highly recommend warm waffles with all the toppings: strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream, chocolate chips, maple syrup, sprinkles and whatever else puts a smile in your heart. Serve with an egg dish (if a frittata isn’t your style, make egg cups with cheese, bacon, and some sautéed, chopped veggies). Serve with some prosecco and enjoy!
Be Good To Yourself
On this day, recognize yourself for the “poetic and noble land-mermaid” you are and do something nice for yourself. Get a manicure, rock a new outfit, register for a race, or take yourself to do something you’ve been wanting to try. For bonus points, do it with your besties.
Remember: “We need to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, work. Or waffles, friends, work. Doesn’t matter, but work is third.” How are you celebration Galentine’s Day?

What? I have to eat waffles on Sunday? Well… if you insist. : )

I admittedly forgot to plan something for galentines day. We do have a group run on Sunday so that will be a nice way to hang with my crew. Finding your people is everything!

I adore my people!

As a,ways, you are so creative Jenn! You are obviously a great friend. I think my gift to myself will just be resting! It’s been a super busy week. Maybe I can find a new to me movie to watch, too.

oooh, I hope you find a good movie! We watched The Power Of The Dog, The Last Duel, and The Green Knight most recently. I also watched I Want You Back, which was silly, but fun.
