At this point, we are 2/3 of the way through 2024, and it’s time to lock in on how we’re going to fill the next four months. It seems like fall into winter are the busiest times, so it’s good to have the outline of a plan to help keep me on track.
Get Back To Consistent Running
The heat and humidity has done a number on me. While I’ve been running a tiny bit during my miles, most of my movement has been walking. It’s just the safest thing, and I’m definitely not trying to be any kind of hero. I’m sad because before the heat of summer, I was doing so well and really crushing some goals. Now, not as much, but I can do the work and get it back.
Find Some Races To Close Out The Year
I always try to push for a race once a month, but motivation is super low for August. Everything is lava, and now we have hurricanes coming through. No, thank you.
Get On A Better Social Media Schedule
I’m having a lot of fun filming reels and sharing photos on social, but I do want to get on a better posting schedule. Right now, it’s a little chaotic. I am giving myself until September 1 to get myself together.
Plan Our Next Trip
Now that we have our passports, we are itching to explore. Of course, we are limited by the school calendar, A’s desire to stay more local, and budget. I feel like our next few trips will have to be domestic until A heads off to college, and then we can head somewhere else. I don’t mind domestic trips (there’s so much to do and see here), but I also want to do something new and way different.
What are you focusing on this month?

Well, you know I am right there with you on the heat and humidity derailing my running. For now, I am glad to have lots of other options to keep me fit. I know running will come back in a month or so. For now, I am just going to keep showing up

I don’t blame you for sticking to walking during the Summer. Curious to know where that first stamp on your passport will be!

I don’t know….. We are fortunate that we have traveled many places, but there are so many more. I know K wants to do Italy again, or Greece. I want to do Iceland, Ireland, or Amsterdam. But I’ve also never been to Canada. So …
