Brace yourselves: the year in photos is going to be… a lot. It was a busy year, full of lots of memories! Let’s dig in!
January
We started strong with Mr PugRunner’s birthday in the Keys with my brother and sister-in-law (and my new dolphin friends), and wrapped it up with a race and a visit with Meghan. Remember the three feet of tacos? Epic. Things were off to a fabulous start.
February
After a very hasty SwiftyBowl party, we packed our bags and headed to New Orleans for a very rainy Mardi Gras race and celebration. We rounded out February with some Valentine’s cheer, and I was thrilled to represent two of my favorite brands: Goodr, and Jogology!
March
Time for the Gate River Run 15K and the Raptor Run! We also took advantage of some beautiful days to explore our city.
April
April is the start of a big celebration season for us: A’s birthday is at the end of the month, which segues beautifully into May. We also had prom, some fun with friends, and more amazing wind ensemble performances. Let’s not forget about the eclipse and a couple of fun races as well!
May
May is my birthday month, and the last month of school. We are getting ready to head into summer! There was a little derby party, a formal Yelp event, the local Food and Wine Festival, and even some racing as well!
June
Halfway through the year! Summer hit Florida hard, but we persisted all the same! I had a super fun weekend in Orlando with Meghan, which included a great race. A headed off to music camp for a week, where he stayed in the dorms and got some college experience. I also started my sourdough starter, Doughlene (don’t worry, she’s on hiatus in the fridge but still going strong). And I treated myself to some brand photos!
July
Mr PugRunner and I had a weekend away in Orlando, and then the whole family headed to Chattanooga. We raced, kayaked with bats, and explored all kinds of things! I know I always say this but it was probably one of the best vacations we ever had.
August
The dog days of summer were really here. I didn’t race, but we did go to a Straight No Chaser concert, an awesome food tour, a charity gala, and A started back to school for his junior year (WHAT?)
September
We kicked off the month with the Hurricanes/Gators game (Go Canes!). From there, we got back into Marching Band season, and got Halloween going with a Beetlejuice pub tour. Yup, there was another race in there, too! Unfortunately, our actual hurricane season really ramped up, as well. We were ok, but it was heartbreaking to see the chaos in other parts of the country.
October
Bandtober was in full swing, but we popped out west for a bucket list trip: the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival. I’ve never loved anything more (and yes, I raced in New Mexico)! We also followed the band to Western Carolina for a huge competition, and then off to Orlando for more. Meghan and I got together for a penguin tour and to take bestie ghost photos, and then it was time for a super quiet Halloween.
November
Ok, we are getting close to the end of the year! We did lots of crafts, and spent time together. We had Thanksgiving at our house, and totally skipped out on Black Friday.
December
And now we are here, cruising through December. Wheee! We enjoyed a cold Nights Of Lights catamaran cruise, met a new horsey friend at a race, and enjoyed some holiday pop ups and lights! Christmukkah is ready to go and we are looking forward to a great year!

You had a wonderful year! I love year recaps because they’re always so full of life and laughter.
And skipping Black Friday sounds like the best way to spend that day, ha! The consumerism is crazy and unhealthy, both for us and our planet.
My favourite part of 2024 were our two multi-day hikes, the one in South Africa and the one around Mont Blanc in France.
Catrina recently posted…Last Race of 2024!

Isn’t it fun to look back at all you did this year!? I had a hard time picking photos for mine as well. Still hoping to get a few more in!
