Drumroll… it’s time to announce my long-awaited 2024 word… PERSIST!
The Horrors PERSIST, But So Do I…
For the entire year, this meme was pretty much my favorite. With every day bringing some new and unprecedented “horror”, the only thing we can do is PERSIST. And to be honest, persistence is the name of the game, especially when it comes to running and reaching all my goals.
What Does It Mean To PERSIST?
“Persist” is a verb that means to continue firmly or obstinately in an opinion or a course of action in spite of difficulty, opposition, or failure
It’s one thing to push forward, but it’s something completely different to do so “obstinately.” Let’s have 2025 by a year of obstinance in achieving our goals.
I Will PERSIST In My Running
The last year brought me a huge swing of ups and downs in my running. Things started great, but the heat and humidity of summer absolutely derailed me. While this led to lots of extra work on my part, I keep pushing through, if only because running brings me joy.
It’s Important To PERSIST Even When Times Are Tough
There are days when it’s hard to remind yourself to keep going. But that’s what persistence is all about. No matter how tough times get, I’m going to be tougher. I hope someone will remind me of that if I start complaining.
I Will PERSIST In Pursuit Of My Goals
While I didn’t set any huge goals this year, there are some I absolutely want to achieve. Persistence is the only way to get it done, and I’m not backing down. Not this year.
What is your word of 2025? Do you intend to PERSIST through all the challenges ahead?
When You PERSIST, Quitting Is Not An Option
I have a nagging feeling that this year is going to be difficult in many, many ways. It’s going to be hard to keep going, and there will be plenty of mornings where getting out of bed will be a huge challenge. Inn 2025, I will remind myself that I can persist through all the storms, and all the uncertainty, and come out the other side ok.

Persist is a great word! In my book quitting is never an option. I might have to approach things differently or get help, but I’ll never just give up.

I try to do the same thing!
