It’s kind of weird having holidays weekends with the kiddo gone. In fact, I booked a house sitting gig for the duration because we just didn’t have plans in mind. Additionally, it’s still so freaking hot that I personally don’t want to do anything too full of effort. I’m lazy like that.

Sunday
- Cardio: 4.52 miles, walking
I was pretty excited to get to head home for a few days. And I was even more grateful to catch the sunrise. Sometimes, it’s just the motivation I need.

Once I packed up, I met Mr PugRunner for breakfast and then it was home for the pugs and time on the couch. I needed some downtime.
Monday
- Cardio: 5.72 miles, running
- Strength: upper body, 40 minutes
Happy Monday! I had time for a run and a gym session, and that made it feel like an incredibly productive day.

Tuesday
- Cardio: 5.61 miles, running
I needed a bit of a stress-reliever, which made this run pretty perfect. I met Mr PugRunner at another coffee shop and after some co-working time, I headed off to a meeting with a potential new client. It went really well and I’m excited about the possibility of exploring some more creative avenues!

Wednesday
- Cardio: 4.64 miles, walking
Up and at ’em.

I had a busy day: a lunch meeting with a client, as well as a dinner date with the hubs. We ended up at a newish place for pasta, salad, pizza, and wine. It was fun and the food was phenomenal!

Thursday
- Cardio: 6.01 miles, running
This was actually a good morning run, even after a night of wine. I’m always glad when that happens.

I had a quick dinner with Mr PugRunner before leaving, and Meghan sent flowers to cheer me up a little.

Friday
- Cardio: 4.52 miles, running
Another hot and muggy morning. Over it, already.

It was a pretty quiet day, until all the lightning storms hit. Fortunately, all my pet clients were ok with the storms, but it still makes it yucky for walks and outside time.
Saturday
- Cardio: 2.42 miles, walking
Today ended up being a little light in the miles, but that’s ok. The point is, I got a good nights’ sleep and spent some time with my sweet clients.

It’s a pretty busy day. I’m running around with dogs and cats, and also popping in on the pugs, while Mr. PugRunner takes a trek down to see A with an entire car stuffed with staples, food, and fun things. That guy needs a positive boost.

Thoughts + Goals
It was a good week, but a tough week. It’s hard to see your favorite people be down in the dumps and not be able to immediately help.
I’ve also been pretty busy with a lot of different balls in the air. I function well when I’m busy, but I also like some downtime. Which is, of course, why I decided I’m going to start painting a room and refinishing a table next week. I know, I know. But peaceful living spaces mean peaceful minds.
I’m also incredibly ready for our next round of travel. It will be good to get out for some fun.
Only one time at the gym this week, but Ill do better. I’ve got a 5K coming up next Saturday, and I’ll also be celebrating 1000 days of streaking this week! Very exciting!

Looks like a pretty solid week for you. WY to get outside with the challenging weather. It’s nice you are close enough to drop things off to your son when he needs it
Nice job this week! And wow – almost to 1,000 with the streak? Congrats! That pasta dish looks so good. Is that burrata on it? Yum.
Oh, how sweet of your friend to send flowers. <3
It’s great that Mr. Pugrunner can visit A — I hope that does lift his spirits — and then you will all feel better.
I KNOW. I don’t want to do anything this weekend. My husband actually mentioned a barbecue, and I was like… OUTSIDE??? That sounds horrifying! I’ll be huddled inside with the AC blasting. But- nice week of fitness. Way to get out there and WHOA- 1000 days! What are you going to do to celebrate?
Hope everything is okay down in Orlando : ) The hand delivered care package should help!
A 1000 day streak is impressive!! You always do so well with going out walking and/or running every day. So sorry to hear A was feeling down! I hope the care delivery helped.
It’s so tough when the nest is empty! I used to drive up to Madison to see my son just to take him to lunch. I still miss my boys, even though they are just in Chicago! Hang in there, my friend. Sounds like you’re keeping busy, and that’s the best thing to be.
Great job keeping active and busy! Both are quite commendable in those hot rather conditions!
Great job on that upcoming streak. Dang, 1000 is huge! And good job being motivated to do anything with that Florida heat. I’d be challenged to stay active with that situation.
Empty nesting and college life can be so hard. My son had a challenging start to his school year and it really bummed me out that I couldn’t be with him. But life is a constant flow of ups and downs right? I hope A is rolling with it and comes out on top. And you too – hang in there! So nice to have friends send flowers when you need it.
Sorry to hear that A is continuing to have a tough time, but a hand-delivered care package should help a lot! Plus I’m sure it was good for him to see his dad.
Oh my goodness, your friend Meghan is so sweet to send you flowers to cheer you up!
Have fun at your 5K on Saturday!
wow. 1000 days! That’s amazing. You are so good with getting it done every day. I’m trying but only keep track of running. and I do have to skip days (due to work and other stuff).
I wish I could travel more but Ii am going away next weekend. Woo hoo!
