I don’t know what’s going on but the last few months of this year are shaping up to be one heck of a ride. Kid off to college, new car, all kinds of travel, and now, a major kitchen overhaul! What are we thinking?

Sunday
- Cardio: 4.68 miles, walking
Sunday was intense. I had a total of 11 pets to drop in on between three houses, so I was just on loop all day. Sometimes, I do have to consider my choices.

Monday
- Cardio: 6.36 miles, running + walking
Best Monday in ages!

A slept in but when he woke up, he was totally up for hanging out. The two of us had lunch and went shopping, and then the three of us had dinner. It was awesome.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 4.35 miles, running
Bittersweet morning. A had to be head back to Orlando. Boo hoo. I started my day before he woke up, getting in my run before dawn. Mr PugRunner also sent me this photo of a jellyfish cloud from some SpaceX launch. I don’t give a toss about SpaceX but this was pretty.

And then we both met A for coffee before he took off. It was a great visit, even though it was too short.

Wednesdsay
- Cardio: 4.63 miles, walking
This week is flying! I had a little fun with our yard decorations after a lovely walk. Is it getting cooler again? Maybe!

Nail appointment, clients, and more packing up everything in our cabinets. I’ll say it. We have too much stuff.
Thursday
- Cardio: 4.68 miles, running
This was the last day of normalcy for quite some time. I got out early for clients and a run. Imagine my surprise when I almost collided with a deer in our neighborhood! Don’t see that everyday!

I had a consultation meeting, and then Mr PugRunner and I had to dig in to empty the rest of the cabinets. that was a rough job.

PS: Happy National Pug Day! The very best day!

Friday
- Cardio: 5.25 miles, running
- Strength: Hip + foot mobility workouts
TGIF! And Happy First Day Of New Kitchen! Eek! I started super early, yet again. That’s just the motif of the week. But I got to see some Halloween decorations and was home before the temperature turned up.

I had my last iced coffee in our original kitchen.

And then it was off to deal with the rest of the day. It’s going to be a tough month, for sure. The pugs are out of sorts, there’s a lot of noise, and we can’t really access much besides our fridge. It will be worth it in the end, but I’m probably going to be a little stressed managing everything.
That evening, we took a ghost tour in Jacksonville. Usually, our ghost tours are in St. Augustine, but we decided to try something different. St. Augustine may be the nation’s oldest city, but Jacksonville has its own history, with the third largest urban fire burning it basically to the ground in 1901. There are plenty of spooky stories related back to that, and I wanted to experience it.
We started with themed drinks in a working, but haunted, tattoo parlor in the downtown area. After some introductions, our tour took to the streets. The coolest part of the tour was getting to explore some abandoned tunnels under one of the city’s buildings. We got to check out old bank vaults, and even the safe deposit room! Super cool.

I loved doing something a little different, but also something very spooky!
Saturday
- Cardio: 4.1 miles, walking
- Strength: Foot mobility workout
The day started long before I was ready. I hate that I never really get to sleep in, and that it ruins the enjoyment of late nights. Oh, well. I handled my walk, and then all my clients. Today I would drop my house of six pets, and be down to just one house of two. I will miss the babies until next time, of course.

And then it was home to the demolition! It was loud and messy, but our contractor took out all the countertops, moved the appliances, capped off all the water, and leveled the counter. The stone guys will come in on Monday to measure the template for the incoming counter, and then he will start pulling out the cabinets to prime and paint. It’s so freaking exciting. And the best part is that all the plumbing and wood held up over the past 20 years! We need a new garbage disposal, and he will be replacing the sink cabinet because of some old water damage, but other than that, we are in good shape. Whew.
Thoughts + Goals
Honestly, I’m exhausted and I feel like I’m never going to sleep again. We just have so many balls in the air, and it’s a lot of work to keep them going. I am incredibly grateful for the things that are happening, but it’s a lot.
I’m taking a little time to myself today and tomorrow, and I’m trying to hold space for the things that make me excited. I’ll have a very quiet night on Sunday, and I’m looking forward to an event at our local flower farm as well.
This week I will be able to get back in the gym. I’ve been carving out time to work on my hips and feet and ankles: I think it will help.
