If you’ve been around here for any length of time, you know that this is my absolute favorite season of the year. It’s also the most festive and exciting, and I love leaning in to all of it, as much as I can! Today, I’m sharing my favorite fall activities, fitness-related AND cozy alike. Get comfy, and let’s dive into my fall bucket list!

Logging Steps With Walking Ghost Tours
We live in one of the most haunted cities in the country, which makes ghost tours especially popular. It’s always special to head out for a night of local lore and history, in the shadows and cool(er) air. Bonus: it’s a great way to log a heck of a lot of steps. I always learn something new, and get a little exercise while doing it.

Getting Creative With Halloween Crafts + Decor
There’s no better way to cozy up a quiet evening than putting on a classic Halloween movie and breaking out the crafting supplies. From enhancing thrift store artwork with ghosts and witches, to making vintage jack-o-lanterns to hang on the porch, getting creative keeps me grounded. Plus, it’s such a fun way to unwind after a heavy training week or a long day at the computer!

Festive Fun With Themed Autumn Races
You knew this one was making the list! Fall race season is in full swing, and nothing beats the energy of a themed 5K or half marathon. Dress up in your favorite costume for the Halloween races, and head out early to trot before your turkey on Thanksgiving. Locally, try the Evergreen Pumpkin Run in Jacksonville or the Jail Break 5K in St. Augustine. In November, check out the Community First Distance Classic for Thanksgiving, as well!

Spooky Haunted Photo Shoots
Grab your bestie(s) and some old sheets or carved out pumpkin heads and stage your own haunted photo shoot! It’s an awesome way to capture memories and embrace the playful spirit of the season! We don’t embrace whimsy as often as we should, and I think that needs to change. Meghan and I need to do this again, with an updated theme!

Flower Fields Instead Of Pumpkin Patches?
While autumn is famous for falling leaves and pumpkin patches, don’t sleep on late-season flower fields! Visiting local sunflower or wildflower patches makes for an incredible day. The photos are unmatched, and a u-pick option allows you to bring a lovely bouquet home to brighten things.

Enjoying Seasonal Themed Dinners
Soup season? Sign me up! I love soups, stews, chilis, and all the cozy, comfort meals. There’s no better way to end the day than with a meal that warms you from the inside out. Elevate the mood with festive table settings, and a fun dessert or snack board.

Checking Out Local Pop-Up Cocktail Bars
There’s something so fun about a venue going all-out with seasonal decor, themed glassware, and spooky mixology! Heading to a local Halloween or autumn pop-up cocktail bar is one of my favorite ways to celebrate the season with Mr. PugRunner or friends. Sampling creative, over-the-top drinks and snacks is always a great time!

Autumn has a way of reminding us to slow down, savor the quiet moments, and find joy in simple traditions. From running a festive 5K, snapping fun photos in a flower field, or taking a chilly ghost walk under the stars, I hope this season brings you all teh joy and whimsy!
