putting a cramp in my training schedule

April 5, 2013      4 Comments

No one like to have their fitness (or any) plans sidelined, especially when they're working towards something specific. However, I am faced with a big decision that is going to put me on ice for about two weeks, and I'm really not happy about it. The tonsils have to go. I went in to the ENT ...

couch 2 5k: week 6, day 1 {4.2.2013} & maroon 5

April 5, 2013      2 Comments

I had a bit of a break between my 20 minute run on Saturday and this one. Little man didn't have school on Monday and I was exhausted from a late-night, turbulent flight and still trying to rest up from my tonsilitis. The only problem was that we were out quite late on Monday night, too. Like, ...

couch 2 5k: week 5, day 2 {3.27.2013}. treadmill edition

March 29, 2013      Leave a Comment

Wednesday marked my first treadmill experience. I'm hoping it will be my last. I was pretty certain that the low point of my week was going out in public (and carrying on a lengthy conversation with little man's teacher in the aisle of the grocery store) in yoga pants that were inside out. (That ...

I love rock ‘n’ roll

March 28, 2013      1 Comment

I had a pretty challenging cake request this past weekend. It was supposed to be a bass guitar. It was for a girl's birthday and therefore needed to be "blinged out." And it was supposed to be made without any red food dye. I learned a very interesting lesson about this. Red food dye is ...

Oh, how I love the sunrise. Fortunately, it wasn’t too long of a night, so this morning’s run was hard because of humidity and nothing more.

Followed it up with some standing core moves (weighted marches, woodchoppers, and around the worlds), and now it’s time for a
fresh set of nails 💅🏻.

Are you back in the swing of things this Tuesday?
