While it’s hard to really predict the actual start of fall here, we did have some cool, cool days this week. Was I ecstatic? You know it! And I’m crushed that the thermometer started creeping back up. But that’s how it is, sometimes. We push on!

Sunday
- Cardio: 3.5 miles, walking
Friends, this lady is NOT used to going to bed after midnight, after a night of fun and festivities. I didn’t have a great sleep, but the idea of sunrise on the water called to me, so I dragged myself up and out while everyone continued sleeping.

I picked up coffee and a snack for myself and Mr. PugRunner on my back to the hotel, and we enjoyed the breezy morning until it was time for brunch. And then it was home to do laundry, nap, and get ready to do it all over again.

Monday
- Cardio: 6.71 miles, running
- Strength: Upper body workout, 35 minutes
The weather was GORGEOUS. It was cool and crisp and in the 60s! Heaven! I had a great run, and was feeling so great that I headed to the gym for a strength session! While I hate the gym, I felt really good about working out and was super proud of myself for making it happen.

Tuesday
- Cardio: 7.07 miles, running
- Strength: Lower body workout, 35 minutes
It wasn’t quite as cool as on Monday, but it was still lovely. Again, I felt great about my run, and pushed through to the gym. Seriously. Look at that sky!

I was supposed to have a walk with my regular, but they ended up rescheduling, which meant I had a little extra time to myself. I used it to catch up on work an organizing some things I had going on. Extra time is always a gift.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 6.99 miles, walking
Wednesdays are for a little bit of a rest, so I took advantage of a nice morning walk, as well as a dog walk. The sunrises are out of control.

Thursday
- Cardio: 7.08 miles, running + .56 miles, walking
We are definitely seeing things warm up, which makes me sad. I want to wear gloves and long sleeves, and I’m honestly hungering to rent a winter cabin in the mountains in December. I’m so ready.

Friday
- Cardio: 6.58 miles, running
TGIF! I was happy to be out, even if the crispness is gone from the air. And my running efforts were rewarded by these adorable Halloween decorations!

A was off from school, so we took the opportunity to drop off thanks you and photos to the businesses who donated to his Eagle Project. he also affixed his commemorative plaque to the gaga pit. Next up? Completing the paperwork!

Saturday
- Cardio: 3.59 miles, walking
Mr PugRunner asked if we could go downtown to walk, and then take the garden shears to the farmer’s market to be sharpened. Sure thing. We took advantage of the sunrise on the water, and then got coffee and breakfast, in addition to fresh apples and cider donuts, and our favorite garlic hummus.

I cleaned the rest of the house (because that’s always fun), and then headed off to a pet sitting job for a favorite client (are they all favorites? Pretty much).
Thoughts + Goals
I’m in a little bit of a better headspace this week. Probably because I’m just getting myself as much fresh air and distraction as possible.
I’ve been very proud of my running as I am extending my intervals. And going back to the gym was annoying, but I always feel better after I get it done, so I can’t complain too much.
Things are starting to ramp up as far as school activities. Sure, we have football games, but we are also gearing up for the first show of the season (our home show), and lots of other fun.
I’m also planning out some more races and we are starting to take a look at vacation for winter. You know that’s my favorite thing in the world, so I’m pretty excited.

Weekly Rundown
I am linking up with the Weekly Rundown, with Confessions of A Mother Runner and Running on the Fly! Check them out!

It looks like you have been having some beautiful weather! That sunrise on the beach is perfection!
The one thing I will say for where I live is that we have phenomenal sunrises and really pretty sunsets this time of year.
Those sunrises are so lovely!
I was just wondering if people are doing Halloween decorations outside yet — I haven’t seen any in my ‘hood.
Great job getting to the gym!

I have started putting some of mine up and out, but this person went all in immediately and I am here for it!
You got down to the 60s??? I’m jealous! We won’t get cool air down here for at least another month. Sigh. I love the feeling of running on that first cool day of fall.
Yay for the gym! Sounds like you had a great week. And, school activities are ramping up here as well- this week is Homecoming!
Our Homecoming was last weekend – so early. A didn’t choose to go to the dance, which made me a little sad, but that’s up to him.
It was cool for exactly 3.2 minutes, it feels like. Just enough to get me inspired to make soup and have a gorgeous run.
We had some beautiful weather too this week! But for a different reason, it warmed up again! It was in the 70s and ’80s all week, my favorite. Hope you can enjoy some cooler temperatures for a little while more.
Haha! You can have it!
Glad you got some cooler weather to appreciate as well. Always does feel good to be outside. I also don’t’ sleep well if I stay up too late
It was a combo of not sleeping and just a few cocktails! Although I did really pace myself and I actually snuck in a few mocktails for good measure.
Sounds like a good week for you! But less pet care, so maybe the home time was good for the soul? Those sunrises/sunsets and cooler temps wouldn’t hurt either. Not many houses have Halloween decorations up around here. I have seen some pumpkins out and we need to make a trip to the apple orchard still. The apples probably have already been picked!!
