Another Christmas has come and gone. It was kind of a strange year, with everyone pulled in so many directions. However, it was so easy and comfortable and cozy, and maybe that’s the greatest gift of all.

Sunday
- Cardio: 5.53 miles, walking
And the week began! I had a wonderful walk!

And then we did some stuff around the house for a bit. A had work. Mr PugRunner went out with his friend. And I had a party with some of my PTA/PTSO/booster friends. We did a riff on a “favorite things” party, except the “theme” was useful things or things that reminded us of how we met or were connected. I found these amazing little bullet journals that I added a flair pen to: as volunteers, we were always taking notes, and everyone loves those Flair pens! We wore holiday pajamas, played LeftRightCenter, and had the best time.

Monday
- Cardio: 6.56 miles, running
I was extra motivated this week, and so happy for it! I got in a great run, and started with my last client of the year! It’s been great for pet sitting, truly.

As you can see, it’s not going to be a very cold Christmas, but what can you do.
This was the last quietest day I was going to have for the rest of the week.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 4.4 miles, running
Getting up this week was a little difficult, but I was able to bust out a run.

From there, we headed to the dermatologist. In case you missed it, I got really great news about my ear. We are going to remove a little bit more to make sure that the growing wart is excised, but no carcinoma was detected. What a relief.
In the evening, we had our friends over for a little cookies and cocoa gathering. It was super simple, with wine, Christmas cookies, veggies with dip, and these cute little puff pastry trees made with turkey and cheese. Easy peasy, and a wonderful night of conversation.

Wednesday
- Cardio: 4.17 miles, walking
Christmas Eve! Of course, I was excited for a walk with J. It’s always good to see her.

I had two visits with clients, and brunch with my parents. From there, we came home to prep our Christmas meal, pack the rest of our cookie boxes and do our Santa duties. A and H got me the most gorgeous pug face ornament from a local market, and I was so happy to hang it on our tree!

Thursday
- Cardio: 4.77 miles, running
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! I started my day with a nice run and a check in on my clients.

Our plan was to enjoy a slow day. We opened presents, had my parents and H over for dinner, and then had a quiet night. I made lasagna and chicken meatballs with salad and garlic bread, and we enjoyed home baked cookies for dessert. It was just right.

Santa did bring me new running shoes and inserts (yay!), but my best gift was probably this hoodie with the pugs’ faces and names embroidered on it. The artist did an amazing job capturing their facial expressions.

Friday
- Cardio: 2.12 miles, running
I popped out of bed before everyone else and snuck in a couple of miles in new shoes. I’ll share a better picture of them this week, but they felt amazing out of the box. Yay!

We packed up the car, brought the pugs to their “mama’s and papa’s” house (yes, even the dogsitter needs a dogsitter!) and hit the road for a little holiday escape. It was a decent drive, and we arrived in time to enjoy the view of the lake. We had dinner in, and played trivia games until bed.

Saturday
- Cardio: 2.1 miles, walking
I slept in a little for the later sunrise and took myself on an exploration of our rental. It’s always hard when there aren’t any sidewalks, but I also didn’t encounter any vehicles.

What I did encounter were some deer and cows, and that was pretty fabulous.

Our lake house is pretty centrally located to everything we want to do, so we kicked if off with some snow tubing and holiday fun. Is it in the 70s? Sure is! But we enjoyed it all the same.
Thoughts + Goals
It was a really lovely week, and I’m grateful for it. I’m working hard to get things in order for the new year… we don’t have much planned for the year ends since the Miami Hurricanes are playing Ohio State on the 31st and Mr PugRunner’s birthday is the first, so we will have to see how the mood holds.
I also have to start planning my races for the year. We are looking at our travel schedule with graduation and a family wedding, and then I can start filling things in. It will all work out.
In Case You Missed It
