july ultimate coffee date

July 2, 2021      23 Comments

Another Friday, another Fit Five Friday linkup! On top of that, it’s time for the July Ultimate Coffee Date! I love that we can share with each other over a virtual coffee, or other beverage.

After reading here, head on over to visit Coco and Deborah, our awesome link-up hosts.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Ultimate-Coffee-Date-1.jpg

Over coffee, I would tell you…

That I was so happy to get my hair done this week. I love having my hair colored, cut, and styled. It’s my one big treat to myself, and I am fortunate to have a great stylist who is happy to play and try new things. This time, I wanted to keep my same color, but try a different cut, although I had no idea what that might look like. My stylist went with a blunt cut, trimming off some of the dead ends. She debulked and texturized and I am so happy with the result.

Over coffee, I would tell you…

That we had such a nice visit with family this past week. It was such a treat to get to see everyone and visit. It’s been a while, thanks to the pandemic, and my leg, and a whole bunch of other factors, and we felt so fortunate to be able to take the time to make up for that. We were also happy to have some time just for us.

Over coffee, I would tell you…

That now that summer camp is over, it’s time to get serious training for Best Damn Race Safety Harbor. I’m in for the Triple Challenge, and II don’t know what was thinking! Three races in two days? Why not? It will be just fine! I always have the best time at BDR events and this is going to be no different. Want to join me at this or one of BDR’s other events? Code RUNSWITHPUGS will save you 10% on any distance in any city. How cool is this medal?

Over coffee, I would tell you…

That I am just a little nervous for my 5k next week. It has been so hot and so humid and I’m struggling with my speed in this weather. I want to do well, but I also don’t want to push too hard, especially with a bridge and some uneven pavement to mess with my ankle. The last time we did this race was 2017, and I feel like it’s time to show this bridge what we’ve got (Mr PugRunner will be there, but A is opting out).

Over coffee, I would tell you…

That summer feels like it’s almost over! We had a LOT of plans, but with little random trips, miserable rain, work, and other commitments, it feels like we don’t have time to do anything! Crazy how time works like that. We have a Tropical Storm moving our way over the weekend, which I’m sure will wash out some of our holiday plans, but that’s hurricane season for you. Cheers to fitting in as much as we can before school starts in early August!

What would you share over coffee?

Your hair looks great! I feel like summer just started, even though it feels like its been hot for a long time. (Our school year goes until late June and we go back in late August). I feel like this summer is going to be so busy with work that I really hope to find some time to relax!

I love your cover photo with your Dunkin!

I feel like summer is just starting here. This week will be a fun one, then I’ve got to make plans for more fun in August.

I’m sure you will show that bridge who’s boss!

Do I have a Dunkin problem? I most certainly do! And that’s ok.

Can’t wait to see what August brings you!

Doesn’t it feel great to have a haircut? Yours looks great. Now I need a manicure.

That race weekend sounds fun. I would totally do it if I lived nearby. Lol.

Good luck on your 5k. I have a race Sunday. I’m trying to forget it’s a race and just run for fun.

I love having my hair cut. I’m doing my own mani tonight with color street nail polish stickers. It’s so easy.

      Good luck on your race!

Your hair looks great! I had my first cut in over a year a few weeks ago – glorious!

I can relate to your 5K angst. I’m doing a 4 miler tomorrow. I remember being bummed about my time a few years ago… that would be so far out of reach for me now! Perspective. I set a reachable goal and plan to try to run relaxed and keep smiling!

    Enjoy your fun July activities!

I hope your 4 miler went well today!

I mean, I can reach my goal, which is to finish. I just need to get over myself a little.

Ugh, DON’T EVEN SAY that summer is almost over! I agree, school starts insanely early (August 10th, for us.) But I feel like we’re just getting started!
For your 5k- remember everyone will be struggling with the heat and humidity. You’ll probably do well in your AG even if it’s not a PR race. And when is BDR weekend? I’ll be interested to hear all about that!
I love your hair!!! It looks light and summery.

We are the 16th? I don’t even know.

We have some local runners who are scary fast. I’m just going to do my thing. Collect my medal. Find a breakfast place with mimosas. Enjoy the ride.

BDR is October 15 weekend. You should come out!

That Best Damn Race medal is a fun one! It seems like running has been going well for you so I’m betting you’ll do great with the two races in 3 days!

I know what you mean about trying to fit everything in – we have a long list still ahead of us for the summer, but time is flying by. Sigh.

Hope you are still able to have a good weekend! We’re in the middle of a few rainy days but Sunday might actually be ok.

    Glad you connected with family!

Good luck with your 5k. That distance is no joke in the heat!

I hope you have fun at your 5k! Hopefully the storm won’t be too bad either!
