Do I love Thanksgiving? No. Do I love giving thanks? Absolutely, I do! So it all works.
Sunday – 4 miles, walking
Happy Sunday!
I started the morning with a walk (yes, it got cold).
Mr PugRunner had an all day music festival, so it was just me and A.
We spent the day doing a little shopping (I got a dress for Thanksgiving!), and lunch at a new Korean place. It was nice to spend time with him.
Monday – 3.28 miles, walking + challenge cycle, 45 minutes
So I skipped the beach today, since I would be getting in a few more miles this week, AND because I had a trial spin class.
I got in a nice warm up walk.
And then I headed up to Challenge Cycle Jax. I haven’t been on a spin bike in YEARS, and I was terrified. But the studio is incredible, the teacher fantastic, and I think I will pop into some drop in classes (it’s a bit too far for regular membership). I was able to keep up with the whole class except for one mountain (the toes in my right foot started to cramp) and some of the dancing (I’m uncoordinated), and I loved the burn.
Did you know it was Clean Out The Fridge Day? I do clean the fridge every few months, but I honored that day with a big scrub down and organization.
Tuesday – 5.00 miles, running + 1.27 miles, walking
Mr PugRunner was out the door before dawn to catch his flight to New Mexico for his cousin’s son’s funeral, so A and I were on our own.
I got in a pretty quick run.
I had an early Taco call time, and he was such a good boy. Look at his unicorn tuft!
And then it was just a regular day, ending in Scouts and bedtime.
Wednesday – 3.63 miles, walking + back + core workout
Happy hump day. I’m add in some core work to my upper body and my cardio. See? I’m really dedicated to this.
Also, it was National Take A Hike Day, so you know I did that cardio outside.
Thursday – 5 miles, running + .62 miles, walking
As soon as A left for school, I went to meet J for our run. While we were out, Mr PugRunner texted me that he was getting on his first flight to come home, so all processes were in motion.
Happy Red Cup Day! After my run, I went to Starbucks to see if I could get one of the reusable holiday cups. Yes to that, but no to peppermint mocha. They were out. I tried the Sugar Cookie Latte, which was also pretty good.
And then, that night, A had his first band concert. Ever. We were so incredibly proud. He is third clarinet, and he and he and the first two chairs flawlessly dominated the show. They were so composed, and confident, and I was totally in awe. They played two typical “band” pieces, and then compilations from Pirates of the Carribbean, Shrek, and The Lion King. Standing ovations all the way around.
Friday – 3.06 miles, running + .97 miles, walking
I was so excited for Friday! My blogger friend, Carianne, was in town! I scooted out of the house super early, picked her up at her hotel. Then it was off to downtown St. Augustine for a running tour of my city. We got some wind, some unexpected rain, and some really amazing conversation! I’m so glad we finally got to meet and I hope we can do it again soon.
The rest of the day was honestly kind of blah. I mean, how do you compete with awesome friends? But we powered through and headed into the weekend.
Saturday – 10.15 miles running
The weather was weird as anything on Saturday, so we were able to push our start time back and get just a tiny bit more sleep. Yay, sleep. And yay for ten miles.
My weekend plans got canceled, but I was still planning on being home while A worked on some merit badge classes via a virtual university. We realized that he is eligible to rank up to Life Scout after he meets with his Scoutmaster and has his Board of Review, and he is newly energized to earn his Eagle. I love his motivation.
Goal-getting
It’s go time! Carianne brought another new book, so I’m double dipping! I am going to be running on all cylinders this week, so the plan is to just make sure I am staying on track with fitness, sleep, and fuel. Let’s do this!
I am linking up with the Weekly Rundown, with Confessions of A Mother Runner and Running on the Fly! Check them out!
How was your week in training? How are you celebrating the holiday week?

What a fun week! I’m so glad you got to meet up with Cari! Looks like she’s been transcontinental this week, lol.
I did not know it was Clean the Refrigerator Day, otherwise, I would have. Guess I’ll have to wait until next year. Just kidding…

Ack! I need a clean the refrigerator day desperately! If I don’t do it before Thanksgiving, I know I’ll be sorry.
Sounds like you had a fun-filled week as usual. Love the band concert- both my kids play in band and those concerts are the best.
Glad you and Cari met up! I have to see if she’s going to be down in my neck of the woods. Hope you have a great week, even though you don’t love Thanksgiving. Maybe this year will be the best one ever.

I used to love thanksgiving but it’s been a downer since my FIL died on that day.
I’ll be doing a turkey trot to work off the calories I’ll be eating back.
Cool that you got to give Cari a city tour combined with a run.
Boo. No peppermint mocha!
And yes. 10 mile run.

I need a Clean Out The Freezer Day( or is that included?)….I came across some Christmas cookies last night (and they were not baked this season, LOL). Yay for your Cari meet-up!

What a fun week! Blog friends are the best friends! My condolences on the family loss, but I’m glad the mister didn’t have any flight troubles and was able to attend.
Congrats to A on his concert!

Glad that you liked the spin class! I didn’t know that it was clean out your fridge day earlier this week. Like you I always try to clean out the fridge every few months – I hate to waste food!
I hope that you have a great Thanksgiving holiday 🙂

How wonderful you met up with Cari and gave her a running tour! I’m so envious of your shorts/tank runs right now 🙂 It’s chilly here.
Sounds like a really lovely week! Love Taco’s unicorn style.

How exciting that your son’s band had their first concert! The advancement in their skills is very impressive, isn’t it? Hopefully there will be many more concerts for you to enjoy!
