five reasons to love balega socks

June 24, 2022      11 Comments

I had the privilege of being a Balega Impi (or ambassador) for the past two years, but Balega socks have been my go-to for far longer. Socks don’t usually get me too excited, but when a sock is as amazing as these, I have to add it to the Fit Five Friday. (As an Impi, I receive complimentary or discounted socks and products for personal use. All opinions are my own).

Balega socks come in so many styles

Personally, I love super thin, no-show socks, but I’m just one runner. Balega offers so many styles, weights, and cuts, so there is truly something for everyone. Choose from no-show or crew cut, thin or cushioned, or select other styles as well. No matter what you like, you’re guaranteed to get soft, sustainable, high-performance socks that make your feet happy.

Balega socks come in a fabulous variety of colors.

Maybe it’s me, but I love bright colors, and I want that to reflect in my shoes AND my socks. I love that each style of Balega comes in a whole complement of bright colors and patterns (and even some not bright colors and no patterns, if that’s your jam). This make sock-shopping incredibly fun, and I always look forward to sock mail day.

Balega socks are good for more than just running

Yes, I do use my Balega socks primarily for running, but they are perfect for so much more. In addition to logging miles on the road, I wear my Balegas for yoga and stretching, hiking, weight lifting, and cycling. I even use some of the thinner, plainer styles inside lifestyle sneakers for casual days out. There is nothing these socks can’t handle!

Balega socks are high quality and high performance.

Balegas are products created by runners for runners. The company makes each sock with extra-fine yarn on high needle count machines, which creates a cushioned, but not bulky, end result. Socks are linked by hand to avoid seams, and they are known for blister-resistance and deep heel pockets. Every single pair of socks is reviewed by an inspector to ensure perfection before they get to your feet. You know you are getting the very best, each and every time.

Balega socks are sustainable

What really sets these socks apart is that they are sustainable, and the brand is always looking at new innovations in that department. Balega uses post-consumer plastic waste to create Drynamix™, a proprietary, moisture-wicking yarn. Socks made from recycled materials are pretty ground-breaking, and I breathe a little easier knowing that the socks I love are making even a small difference.

Have you tried Balega socks?

I have and I do like them for training runs.

I have another (rare) brand (Karrimor) that I wear for races so I don’t get blisters.

Congrats on being an ambassador. I’m bad at applying for these things.

As you know, I have a huge sock obsession. I do like Balega socks! My favorites are Swiftwick trail socks, though. But my Balegas are great for around the house. They are so cushy and comfy. Congrats on being an ambassador for them!

I thought we couldn’t get Balega here in NL but I see now it’s possible to order them! So I will give them a try. My trusted Injinji toe socks (which are supposed to prevent blisters) gave me a blister the other day 🙁 But like you, I love all the colors when it comes to socks so this is definitely a plus point for me.

I also like Balega socks. My favorite are the ultraglide! Right now I alternate with Smartwool socks and both both everyday. For some reason I get a hole in my socks so I won’t be buying them anymore. Then I will definitely stock up on Balega socks!

I’m probably the one remaining runner who has not tried them, LOL. I do love good-quality socks, though, for running. I prefer the more cushioned ones, and in as bright of colors as possible 😉

All of this. But especially their durability. I got my first pair a year and a half ago and am not gentle on my socks. They’re all still perfect except one whose mate ran away 🙁

Oh, how I love the sunrise. Fortunately, it wasn’t too long of a night, so this morning’s run was hard because of humidity and nothing more.

Followed it up with some standing core moves (weighted marches, woodchoppers, and around the worlds), and now it’s time for a
fresh set of nails 💅🏻.

Are you back in the swing of things this Tuesday?
