time for the july runfessions

July 29, 2022      13 Comments

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: it’s time for July runfessions and this year is FLYING by.

For this month’s trip to the runfessional, let’s join up with Marcia’s Healthy Slice…

runfessions

I runfess…

That it’s too freaking hot to do anything. Even in the predawn hours, it’s oppressive and awful and I can’t wait for this summer to end. It’s absolutely wretched.

I runfess…

That because of the heat, I have chafed in places I didn’t know were possible. We are talking the back of my waist, on my back, under my sports bra line… It’s painful and uncomfortable and I’m not happy about any of it. We need a break.

I runfess…

That I have three pairs of goodr sunglasses coming my way. I’ve been trying to hold off, but this morning, I couldn’t delay anymore. I snagged two pair of OGs, placed that order, and then in the afternoon, I got word from the Flamboyance that I could score a pair of Extreme Wrap Gs, too! I regret absolutely nothing.

I runfess…

That I may have overscheduled myself over the next few weeks. I am still making time for runs and walks, but I am absolutely exhausted from early mornings, late nights, and everything in between. It will be fine, but it’s been a challenge to manage everything.

I runfess…

We went to A LOT of wineries when we were in North Carolina. I’m talking about one a day. Oops. I don’t really drink much (maybe a glass of wine after dinner if we are home), but I am 100% about vineyard and flight life. Sometimes, vacation rules have to apply.

What are you runfessing today?

I runfess that I had the worst chafing on a 16K run a couple of weeks ago. It was under both boobs – I think my sports bra was too loose and the chafing looked and felt awful. This was my last long run before my Half — so for the Half I had on a tighter bra and lathered with Vaseline and thankfully no chafing.

Hopefully it starts to cool down for you in the coming days/weeks.

Yep- the heat is insane. And the worst thing about Florida is it will be a LONG time before we cool down (I hate to say it.) The worst is in September and October when everyone else is having a beautiful fall, and we’re still in sweltering summer. But don’t despair! We’ll have our revenge in the winter.
You’re reminding me that I need new sunglasses and I still haven’t tried Goodr! Maybe I’ll order a pair.

well, I drank way too much on my vacation too-it happens. Summer running is always a challenge which will make fall so rewarding! Not sure I could keep up with your social life either! I generally don’t go out during the week (except when I am globetrotting around! LOL)

Wineries sound like so much fun. I’m into that.

I’ll be envying you in the winter when we have now and ice all the time.

I love GOODRS but I don’t need any more or do I??

Oh what fun GoodRs! One cannot have too many pairs! Sorry about all the chafing! I’m trying to not wish away summer as then we head into 10 months of freaking winter here. Not fun.

I’ve applied the vacation rules way too much this summer and my waistline is soaking it up. UGH! But life is short and we need to have fun. Am I right?

You should keep buying all the Goodrs. I would!

Girl, enjoy the wine. Life is too short. I’ve been using Dove anti-perspirant instead of Body Glide and that has helped a lot. It is cheaper too!

I shades-fess I have the same obsession with sunglasses (but my brand of choice is Knockaround…which I think are very similar to the Goodrs). One can never have too many pairs of shades. That’s my theiry.

heat and chafing is the worst.
wine flights are life. I runfess I have no regrets drinking wine, beer and cocktails on my recent break.

I’m really hoping to score the Chicago marathon goodrs when they are released – I’m just afraid I will miss out when they go on sale. I probably should send them to my best friend’s house in Chicago since we are staying there. I NEED to have those (*casually covers up 17 pairs of goodrs lying around the house as I say this*)

make sure you are taking a breather between all your activities!

Hahaha at your 17 pairs of Goodrs. I just bought three more.

I’ll get that breather eventually. Hopefully with a wine flight.

I don’t chafe often because I apply anti chafe to the usual places but it happens & it’s definitely not fun.

I don’t drink but vineyards are still fun! They’re usually in very tranquil places & really pretty. Sounds like a great vacation.

I don’t ever chafe until I do and then it’s too late. So here we are.

Vineyards are so peaceful. Grapes don’t really grow here, so it was something unique and lovely.
