The Bob And Brad Q2 Mini Massage Gun is an absolute essential in any runner’s recovery toolbox. Great for increasing circulations and reducing soreness and muscle tension, a massage gun like this is a great complement to stretching, rolling, and other recovery activities.
(I received a complimentary Bob And Brad Mini Massage Gun in exchange for my honest review.)
Why A Mini Massager?
As a runner, keeping muscles and joints healthy and strong is part of the gig. Treating your body well is called for in cases of rehabilitation, but also as a preventative measure. Tools like the Bob And Brad Q2 Mini Massage Gun are easy to put to use to help ease delayed onset muscle soreness and stimulate circulation, which promotes internal healing. The steady pulse in adjustable speeds can even improve flexibility and lead to relaxation. Having something small, quiet and portable makes it convenient to treat yourself before and after a workout session or run, or even to destress after a long day.
Great Quality For The Price
Right off the bat, the Bob And Brad Q2 Mini Massage Gun is a nice piece of equipment and retails for about $69.99. It’s solidly constructed, not too heavy (weighs less than a pound), but certainly substantial. The set comes with the base, six interchangeable heads, charging wire, and instructions, all packaged in a convenient zippered case. It’s easy to swap out each massager head, but they snap in and out securely. Looking for a splash of color? No problem. The Q2 comes in black, blue, and red.
Convenient Size
Even though there are lots of parts to the Q2 mini massager, it all packs up neatly into a totally transportable package. It will tuck easily into your gym bag or suitcase, or slip away in your office or home gym. I love a compact case, and this one is just the perfect size and weight.
Easy To Use
The Q2 Mini Massager is incredibly easy to use. When you first open it up, it’s all ready to be plugged in to charge via the included USB-C adapter. Once it’s ready to go, choose your massage attachment, fit it into the socket and you’re ready to go! Just press the power button and apply the massage head to the muscles in question. Want a more intense experience? Go ahead and press the power button – there are five speeds from which to choose for a customized session.
Digging Deep
While I’m not the biggest fan of massages, I have been struggling with some knots and tension in my glutes, hamstrings, and calves. It’s nothing serious, but the rainy days can make it more difficult for me to be comfortable.
It was the perfect time to put the Q2 Mini Massage Gun to work. For the last few weeks, I’ve been hitting my trouble spots and noticing a huge difference. Since I’m dealing with larger muscle groups, I selected the ball head on speed level 3. Heaven.
And can we talk about the cushion head on my quads? This really helped alleviate some soreness I was having. I was easily able to adjust the pressure applied for more tender spots, and it was also easy to transition to my hamstrings and give them some love.
Once upon a time, I had a nasty case of plantar fasciitis and I do tend to roll my arches as a preventative measure. However, this bullet attachment makes it so much easier to hit all the right spots than just a tennis ball. Another pro is that I can control the intensity of the pulse, which is great when dealing with the sensitive nerve damage in my right foot. And because it’s so quiet, I can massage while I’m on the phone or watching TV without interrupting.

This looks like a great tool! I have a few different massage guns and they are a really nice way to warm up and recover after runs.

I want one!!! I originally had this on my Christmas list and I can’t remember why I didn’t get it. I have something similar at work that I can use, but I really should have one at home too. The B&B version is definitely a bargain!
