It’s always fun to look back at photographs over an extended period of time, both for memories and perspective. For this Tuesday Topics, let’s look at my 2023.
January
January was an awful, terrible, no-good month. It’s when Mr PugRunner ended up in the hospital with congestive heart failure and kidney disease, and while there were bright moments, it pretty well sucked. I did pick a word, and try to stick with it.
February
Life started gettin back to normal. Mr PugRunner and I were able to take a weekend away in Amelia Island and I did a lot of beach running.
March
I started venturing out in March a little more, taking on the Gate River Run 15K, and trying to get back into some semblance of a groove.
April
April is A’s birthday month, so that was something nice to look forward to. I got some more beach time, and he got to go to several wind ensemble shows at different venues. His favorite included playing at UCF and taking a trip to Universal afterwards. We also started heading out with friends again.
May
May is a busy month with my birthday, Mother’s Day, and the end of the school year.
June
Happy summer to us! Mr PugRunner took A out west so he could embark on a Philmont trek. I stayed home with the pugs. Our boy also got his driver’s permit and his braces off. What a month!
July
Oh, summer. We got to see capybaras (my birthday gift), and spend some time at Margaritaville in Orlando. In addition, we took A to Atlanta for the DCI show.
August
We finished up year 2 of band camp and started sophomore year of high school. My college roommate came to town with her family, and we had wonderful time with them as well.
September
Fall is for tacos, and we had a blast at the local taco and tequila festival. The kids had an early homecoming, too.
October
Bandtober came in hot, and we happily did our parental duty traveling to competitions. Also, Halloween.
November
The year was winding down, but not before some epic trips to Alabama and South Carolina! We celebrated 17 years of marriage, an epic marching band season, and Thanksgiving.
December
The month started poorly with Covid, but we pulled through and started our celebrations.
And there you have it! An entire year in photos! There were plenty of ups and downs, but all in all, it was a good one.
What are some memorable moments from your 2023?

I’m so happy that the year is ending on a more positive note compared to how it started in January!
So many happy moments and so many nice celebrations.
I especially love that photo of the band in October. Those outfits are spectacular!

They had such a great show this year. Of course, I’m biased, but they looked incredible out on that field. I can’t wait to see what this year brings!

You sure kept very busy with fun social events and races and travel. It’s always fun to look back on a great year

It was a nice stroll down memory lane.

I also enjoy looking back on the memories in all the photos…but, yikes. It’s a bit overwhelming assembling an end-of-year synopsis with so many pics to choose from (which is a good problem, though). Let’s hope 2024 brings all of us much joy, great health and lots of fabulous new memories 😉

It is a little overwhelming, but it’s a great problem to have.

Every year has ups and downs. I thinks yours had more ups.
Hope 2024 is even better.

I hope so, too.

It is so much fun looking at these pictures! Life is full of challenges and that’s what makes it different and exciting. I hope 2023 is just as great or even better for you!
