One of my favorite races series is Best Damn Race, with Best Damn Race Orlando being my favorite event of the bunch. I am a proud ambassador for the brand, and have been for several years. In 2024, BDR Orlando will take place on Saturday, March 2, and I hope you have the chance to check it out!
(I am an ambassador for Best Damn Race. I receive complimentary race entries and other amenities in exchange for my promotion and honest opinion of the events.)
Why Best Damn Race Orlando?
I know that BDR Safety Harbor is the original event, and most BDR runners hold that one in highest regard, but Orlando is where I got my start running this series, so for me, it’s the best. I love the start and finish line by Lake Eola, and the downtown course for the 10K and 5K. Parking is easy if you arrive early (which I do), and there is plenty of room for the famous post-race party. Plus, Orlando is less than two hours from me, making it a more manageable trip.
Is There Still Time To Register?
You know it! There are still slots for the Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and 10K/5K Challenge, when you register here. When I run, I usually take on the Challenge, because you get THREE medals (one for each distance and one for completing the whole event), which is a huge motivator for me.
Speaking Of Bling, Tell Me About The Race Swag
BDR is pretty famous for its epic race swag. Not only will all finishers get a gorgeous custom medal, they will also get a great women’s or unisex race shirt, a city-specific bib, a BDR goodie bag, free race photos, and access to free food and drink at the after party.
What Do I Need To Bring To Best Damn Race Orlando?
Just you, your running shoes, and your sense of fun and adventure! Seriously. BDR Orlando will supply the rest. Personally, I think it’s best to pack light, but fabulously! Wear your favorite race fit, because the on-course photographers are incredible, and you’re going to love your FREE photos! No matter what race distance (or distances) you take on, you’ll have plenty of hydration and fuel at the ready, so all you need to do is get to the start line and run your heart out!
Did I Hear “Discount Code?”
You sure did! Act now, because this code expires February 24! When you register, use code RUNSWITHPUGS at checkout to save 10% on any Orlando distance, while space lasts!

That sounds like a fabulous race (and race series) and you get a lot of swag!
I had a look at the entry fees, which are comparable to our race fees in Switzerland.
If I lived near Orlando, I would definitely do that race and use your discount code!

<3 <3 <3 It's a great price for the experience, in my opinion.

This always looks like such a fun race. I wish I was closer. 🙂

It really is. I hate that I won’t be there this year. It falls on the same day as Gate.

Wow, it sounds really fun. Orlando is kind of a midway point for us- you’re two hours to the north and I’m about three hours south. Too bad I’ve mangled my ankle- I don’t think I”ll be ready for a race that soon. But maybe next year!!! I hope you have fun and I can’t wait to hear all about it.

If you do it next year, and it doesn’t fall on Gate River Run weekend, I’ll meet you there!

I love a race with a bunch of different distance options so that anyone has the opportunity to run them.
