The truth is, I’m pretty much a minimalist when it comes to running. I absolutely have some tried and true running accessories, but not too many. When I started my running journey, I feel I had everything under the sun, but as the years passed, I reduced the things I liked to bring with me on the run.
Basic Hair Elastics
I can’t stand my hair on my neck or shoulders so I use these basic elastics to secure a messy bun on the top of my head. This is the best way I’ve found to keep my hair out of my face, and untangled. The scünci or Goody brands work best in my hair type, and I always keep extras on my wrist or in my bag.
Goodr Sunnies
You all know my obsession with eyewear, and Goodr sunglasses are my go-to for all things. I have at least one pair in almost every style, although my favorites are the OGs, and the Mach Gs. I love that they are cute, lightweight, and only $25-$35 a pair. How can you beat that?
Alter Ego Hats
When it’s raining, I rely on my Alter Ego hats. They are super cute on a good day, but even better to help keep the rain out of my face on stormy days. I love the different fits, but the Coaster Performance Trucker is my favorite. It has contoured paneling, and a curved brim, and fits like a dream. Not a trucker fan? That’s ok: they have plenty of other styles from which to choose.
Jogology Socks
Socks are a necessary evil, but Jogology has made wearing socks much more pleasant for me. They are so soft and seamless, and I barely even know I have them on. I’ve been wearing Jogology for at least six months now, and have yet to have any kind of blister or hot spot issues, and they are holding up great.
Road ID Bands
Safety first and always. Road ID makes the very best in emergency ID for everyone. I love the variety of bands and plates, engraved with my important contact info and medical details, just in case the unthinkable happens. These are crucial accessories that I don’t leave home without.

These are all great ideas! I agree with you on the elastic hair bands! Plus it’s hard to find one that doesn’t slip down my ponytail. Now if spring would only come back…we’re supposed to get snow tomorrow?!

A baseball cap. Goodrs. Scrunchie. Usually compression calf sleeves. iPhone.
That’s it.

Looking forward to trying out the Jogology socks soon!

I also don’t run with my hair down. I don’t get how people can do it, but not me.

Oh, it would be a sweaty, knotty mess if I tried!
