Morning runner or evening runner: Which one are you? From the day I laced up my first pair of running shoes, I’ve been chasing the sunrise, and I can’t seem to do it any other way.
Early Morning Is My “Free Time”
Even though I have a pretty flexible schedule, the biggest chunk of uninterrupted time in my possession is early morning. If I can get up and out before the sunrise, it gives me time to workout AND get to all my deadlines, work, and responsibilities without interruption. Win win.
I’m An Early Bird By Nature
I am unapologetically a morning person, so it’s way harder for me to find extra energy in the afternoon and evening, than it is to get up with a dawn alarm. It just seems to be the way I’m wired these days.
Morning Runs Energize Me
Much like a delicious coffee, morning runs give me the adrenaline and energy to start my day. I’m not quite myself if I haven’t moved my body before I get into my daily to do list, and I don’t like messing with a system that works well for me.
Because Florida
Honestly, this is what it boils down to. Living in Florida means it’s hot and muggy and humid. Once the sun rises, the conditions can be miserable, if not dangerous. Getting my run out of the way first thing in the morning is on way I am able to combat the heat and keep myself

I’m definitely a morning runner too! Its so much easier to get it done before the day begins. And like you, I am a morning person. By the time I could run in the evenings it would be 8pm after the kids are in bed, and I am exhausted by that time.

I like not having it hanging over me for the rest of the day, too!

Running in the early morning is the best, especially if you have to deal with hot weather later in the day.
In the winter, my favourite time is lunch time – it gives me a relaxed morning and the afternoon feels like a new day.

I have never had the chance to run at lunch lol. I would immediately combust!

I’m a morning person. But running in the cold and dark is not my thing so I usually run in the mornings on weekends or in the summer when it’s too hot later.
But you live in Florida a different story.

I don’t mind the cold or the dark. Of course, I don’t get those things like you do!

I so admire and respect those of you who get up super early to run and workout. I’m just not one of them lol
