It’s crazy to realize we are 1/4 of the way through this insane 2025. What a year it’s been so far. I’m trying to keep the positive vibes going, but this year is testing me in ways I feel I haven’t been tested before. I need all the caffeine I can get.

After reading here, head on over to visit Coco and Deborah, our awesome link-up hosts.

Time to get our coffee on!
Over Coffee, I Would Tell You…
That I officially resigned from my position in A’s BSA Troop. I’ve been Committee Chair since we joined this Troop (maybe five or six years) and it was time. He still does need to complete his Eagle project, so we aren’t abandoning the Troop, but we have have had an influx of enthusiastic and involved parents who want to help, and the timing was right. I am very excited to see what new leadership can accomplish, and the troop is lucky to have these new leaders! This also frees up some of my time for other endeavors.

I Would Also Share…
That I am loving my new book club. I had to miss a meeting, but it is something I have on my calendar on repeat, and I do everything in my power not to skip. Everyone has the chance to recommend a book, and the decision is made by a virtual spinner. And we have started bringing extra books to meetings to trade or donate. It’s a great way to get our hands on new reading material! I’m so lucky to have found these ladies.

With Coffee In Hand, I Would Tell You…
I am so grateful to have had in-person coffee dates with some friends this past month. Sometimes, it’s hard to schedule the time, but we got days on the calendar and then followed through. It’s always so fulfilling.

If We Were Having Coffee, I Would Share…
That I have bought nothing but essentials (and even those are pretty limited) since the end of January. No trips to Target. No Amazon hauls. None of it. I wasn’t doing a no-spend challenge, but somehow, no spending found me. Fortunately, I had some gift cards so I was able to treat myself to coffee and some new books, but other than that, it’s been groceries and gas. Do I have a goal? Not really. We’ll just have to see how long this goes.

My Final Coffee Thought Is…
I am about to embark on three solid weeks of pet care and I’m nervous, excited, and overwhelmed. It’s amazing how quickly the requests poured in and also how quickly the jobs booked. I’m already booking summer vacation dates, too! Wish me luck!

What would you share with me over coffee? Do you have any lucky things going on this month?

Your book club sounds fun! One of my goals is to read more this year – I miss my old book club days.
It’s really fun. I hope you can squeeze in more reading time.
If I had a pet that needed care, I would totally trust you to do an amazing job! Good luck and I know all of your clients will love you
That means a lot. I’m with clients right now and we are having a blast. They are so sweet.
Good news on the new job.
And the free time.
Lucky? Wish me luck in my upcoming half.
It’s going well!
Good luck! You’ve got this!
2025 has been dishing up more than my share of challenges as well, so I feel you. Sounds like the Rover business is going gangbusters! I wish you were closer, I’d totally hire you!
And I would totally love to be hired! Will 2026 be better? It’s anyone’s guess!
Oh, I wish I lived near you! Every time we go out of town it’s a hassle to get someone to feed our pets. Last time we gave the job to a friend of my daughter’s, who somehow emptied a bag of cat treats, and left food on the floor so we had an ant infestation. Sigh.
I’ve also cut way down on my Target and Amazon purchases. I’m just having trouble figuring out where to buy things! If you have any ideas, please pass them along.
Your book club sounds great!
I’d love to find a book club! My free time is so limited these days, though, I’d have a tough time committing to both the meetings and the reading, LOL.
I bet you are going to love your Rover jobs — I’m sure the animals and their owners will love you!
I was in a virtual book club that seems to have gone silent now that I think about it …. I went to a neighborhood one once but the schedule didn’t work for me.
We have one book club that I was in that just didn’t work out for me. It was very large, and the schedule was constantly shifting. This one now is always on the same day (last Wednesday of the month) so I can schedule that in.
I just checked out of my first overnight gig and checked in for my second. It’s amazing. I miss my house but there’s really nothing better than hanging with animals.
How fun that you’re getting booked through the summer with your pet walking/sitting job! I’m sure you love your time with your cute little clients. 🙂
Yes! It was a great thing!
