Happy Spring! With the new season, we have new races to run! Let’s take a look at what I’d love to accomplish over the next few months.

Vilano Bridge 5K & 10K Run – March 29
About 17 things would have to fall into place to make this race happen, but I do love it and would like to be there this spring. It’s a beautiful course, with a big bridge, and a fun little after party. It’s not huge, but it is well attended, and always a good time.

Wine And Chocolate Run – April 12
Every year I talk about running this 5k, and every year something happens. Either my schedule doesn’t cooperate, or there are hideous storms. But one year. This 5k is an evening event, and goes through historic San marco, a lovely place to run. There are no medals, but runners get two pours of wine and a bag of chocolate treats. Not a bad way to end 3.1 miles.

The Spud Run – April 26
You all know how I feel about potatoes, so it’s obvious that this is one of my must-do races of the year. Last year, I got poured on, which wasn’t fun, but I have higher hopes for this year. Remember, runners get a potato shaped medal, and fresh potatoes and cabbage from local farms. There is also a choice of 5K, 10K, or 15K Challenge. So fun.

DONNA Mother’s Day 5K – May 10
Who doesn’t love a birthday 5K? This race falls right around my big day, and is for an amazing cause. The amenities are always wonderful, and while the course is a little different this year, it’s always worth running.

Florida Striders Memorial Day 5K – May 26
This one holds a special place in my heart, so I am all in again. The Memorial Day 5K is the first race I ever ran, and I try to do it as often as I can. It’s a great course and a wonderful vibe, and of course, it’s in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

What are your top races to run this spring?

I have signed up for a bunch of things but after this weekend’s chilly Shamrock Shuffle, I’m going to skip a few to try to get some of my running mojo back!
Have fun at the races! I hope it’s not too hot and they’re a lot of fun.
These all look like fun. Wish I lived there esp wine and chocolate.
We have a spud run here but I’ve never run it.
I’d love to hear how your spud run goes!
