Obviously, we should enjoy that coffee over ice, as temperatures soar into the high 90s most days. In fact, it’s almost too hot to drink coffee at all, if you can imagine. It’s almost too hot to do very much of anything. No fun. But that’s summer in Florida.

After reading here, head on over to visit Coco and Deborah, our awesome link-up hosts.

Over Coffee, I Would Tell You…
That the end of junior year came fast and senior year is approaching even faster. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic year already: A is locked in and facing his obligations and responsibilities head on. I love that he is so willing and capable of meeting challenges and working through them. While I think college will be a bit of a shock to his system, I also think he’s going to thrive.

I Would Also Tell You…
That we suffered two huge losses over the last few weeks. Both were sudden and both are leaving huge holes in the community. Once again, we are reminded to love hard and know that tomorrow isn’t promised.

Over Coffee, I Would Share…
That I am really looking forward to our vacation in a few weeks. I’m not going to tell you where we’re going but I will give you a fun hint. No, we won’t be leaving the country, but I will get to see a friend who looks similar to this! I’m so excited.

While We’re Having Coffee, I’m Going To Share…
That it’s National Donut Day and I am 100% treating myself! I am obsessed with craft donuts, and yes, I’ll get an iced coffee to go with it!

With Coffee In Hand, I Would Tell You…
I had a really nice few days with A. Mr PugRunner went out of town for a work conference, and so we had lots of time together. I drove him and his girlfriend to Universal Studios, and we had the loveliest ride with tons of conversation. We met up with my parents for breakfast one day, and I took him to the dentist and out for biscuits after and we talked about anything and everything. It was incredible and so needed. Look! We actually did have coffee together!

What would you tell me over coffee?

Aw! That’s some nice time with A and his girlfriend. I usually don’t mind driving a carpool because of the interesting conversations! Did you also go to Universal, or did you just drop them off?
I can’t wait to see where you’re going! Definitely not Florida or the south.
Happy donut day!
I agree. Sometimes, they sit in the back seat and I feel like the hired help, but this time, A sat up front and we had great conversations. I ended up dropping them off, going to work at a coffee shop, meeting a friend for lunch, and then returning to work for a bit. As we got closer to their dinner reservation, I parked and took myself out to dinner as well. They would have let me hang with them if I wanted to go, but I didn’t really want to spend the money on tickets to be a tagalong, and it was a long day (6AM departure, 9:30PM return).
Interested to hear about your vacation – is that a bison?
Celebrating donut day tomorrow with a 5K donut run to celebrate a donut loving friend who is moving back to CA with a group of 25!
Oh, I wish! It’s a mini highland cow! So fluffy!
Have so much fun!
Hope you have a fantastic vacation can’t wait to see where you land! Enjoy that donut today!
I didn’t even get it! Tomorrow!
You guys are roasting while we are lucky to hit 70 degrees around here. I won’t complain, at least the sun is out after all the gloom. How nice to spend quality time with A. Those moments become more precious as they dwindle away as they grow. Sigh. Cheers to senior year!
I’m not ready!
I bet A will be ready for college when the time comes — but you might not be. 😉
I prefer plain donuts — cake with cinnamon sugar is my favorite!
Sorry to hear about the sudden losses. It’s been a rough year for that for me too.
I’m so sorry. It can be so hard.
Sometimes, I love a plain donut. It’s a great way to see how good a donut shoppe really is (I feel the same way about pizza… yes, you can get all the crazy toppings, but sometimes a piece of plain cheese is a great indicator of the quality).
Can’t wait to hear where you’re going for vacation… Since you’re not leaving the country that rules Scotland out, but I feel like I’ve seen that Highland cow on your blog before, but don’t remember where you were than.
Fun fact… I have never met a Highland cow!
Senior year on the horizon – how exciting!
Can’t wait to hear about your vacation! Enjoy it!!
I can’t wait!
How did I miss National Donut Day. I was in NYC and so many options.
Hmmm where are you going? Jackson Hole is my guess. But wherever I hope you have a blast.
We will make it up soon! I am thinking I might be able to sneak one in tomorrow or Thursday. Yum.
Not Jackson Hole but that sounds fun!
That is exciting about your son! One more year and then college. Now I am curious to know where you are going on vacation. Well, wherever you go, have a great time!
I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending lots of love. <3
Are you going to Scotland!? That cow is adorableeeee.
